Scouting report

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Coming off of another huge season, Demaryius Thomas was recently rewarded with a five-year contract extension. Over the past three years with Peyton Manning as his QB, D.T. has been over 1,400 yards every time and has averaged 99 receptions for just under 1,500 yards and 12 TDs during that span. Thomas has the most 100-yard games in the NFL since 2012 with 25 - two more than second place Calvin Johnson and six more than third place T.Y. Hilton. He's also one of only two receivers, along with Johnson, to post over 4,000 receiving yards since ‘12. Demaryius has not missed a game the past three seasons.

Fantasy Downside
There’s not a lot to be concerned about with No. 88. Manning is a year older and Denver looking to run the ball a bit more with HC Gary Kubiak, you’ve got to assume that reaching 111 receptions for over 1,600 yards like he did last season will be tough to achieve. However, Thomas is still the Broncos No. 1 weapon in the passing game.

Bottom Line
With Julius Thomas now in Jacksonville, look for Demaryius and Emmanuel Sanders to receive at least as many targets as they had in 2014. After signing the contract that will keep him in a Bronco uniform for at least the next five seasons, you can bet there won’t be any distractions for D.T. Thomas, who is third in our WR rankings and is being projected to again register over 100 catches and over 1,500 yards – so just another average season since Manning has been his QB.

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - Week 19, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Divisional Round – Demaryius Thomas vs. Indianapolis Colts
For the tenth time this season, Demaryius Thomas eclipsed the century mark in the win over Oakland two weeks ago. Demaryius set the franchise record with 1,619 receiving yards and scored 11 times in ’14. Even with the Broncos using more of a balanced attack, Thomas hasn’t slowed down. While he was held to four grabs for 48 yards in the Week 1 win over Indy, he is a great option this week.

Week 17 – Demaryius Thomas vs. Oakland Raiders
With the Broncos in comeback mode last Monday against the Bengals, Demaryius Thomas posted his ninth 100-yard game of ’14. On 14 targets from Peyton Manning, he registered seven receptions for 115 yards. Demaryuis is over 1,500 yards on the season and continues to be a huge weapon in the Denver passing attack. In Week 10 versus the Raiders, Manning threw for 340 yards and five scores, with Thomas finishing with 11 grabs for 108 yards. There’s no doubt you’re going to continue starting him.

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Demaryius Thomas vs. Cincinnati Bengals
For a team-record eighth time this season, Demaryius Thomas finished with over 100 yards receiving. Last Sunday at San Diego, he caught six passes for 123 yards and his 10th TD of ’14. Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler combined to throw the ball only 22 times in the win, with half of those going in the direction of No. 88. Cincinnati has been pretty good versus the pass this season, but you’re definitely going to continue to start Thomas. He's a no-brainer start weekly, even with a slumping Peyton Manning.

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Demaryius Thomas vs. San Diego Chargers
With Peyton Manning completing just 14 passes in the victory over the Bills last Sunday, Demaryius was targeted five times and finished with only two catches for 11 yards. Wes Welker led the Broncos with six grabs for 82 yards, but Peyton did not throw a TD. Demaryius had been bothered by a sore ankle heading in to the game, but should be fine at San Diego. In the previous meeting with the Chargers this year, Thomas caught eight passes for 105 yards, so keep on starting him.

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Demaryius Thomas vs. Buffalo Bills
For the second straight game, Demaryius Thomas finished with less than 100 yards, as he collected six receptions for 63 yards and a TD versus the Chiefs last Sunday night. He’s scored four TDs the past two games, but this week will be going against a Bills defense that is No. 5 at stopping the pass. However, there’s no way you are not going to start Demaryius.

DEN WR Demaryius Thomas - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Demaryius Thomas vs. Kansas City Chiefs
With TE Julius Thomas out last week versus Miami, Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders saw 26 of Peyton Manning’s 35 pass attempts. On 13 targets, Demaryius caught 10 balls for 87 yards and three TDs, raising his touchdown total to nine on the season. Thomas registered 62 yards and a TD in the Week 2 meeting with the Chiefs. Of course he’ll be in your starting lineup for the Sunday night rematch, even against the league’s top pass defense.
