DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Washington

With C.J. Anderson receiving 30 of the Broncos’ 45 rushing attempts last Thursday at Indy, Devontae Booker finished with 11 carries for 39 yards and a 10-yard reception. The highlight of the night was Booker’s hurdle and run for a score that was called back due to offensive holding. Anderson will likely continue to be the Denver workhorse for the final two games, so look elsewhere for a starting RB.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Indianapolis Colts

With the Broncos running for just 84 yards on 35 carries last Sunday against the Jets, Devontae Booker received 9 rushes for 22 yards. He also caught 2 passes for 12 yards, but C.J. Anderson is seeing much more of the RB touches since Bill Musgrave became the team’s offensive coordinator. Even though the Colts just let LeSean McCoy run all over them in the snow last week and are allowing over 115 yards per game on the ground, Booker should not be a part of your starting lineup.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. New York Jets

Just when it appeared Devontae Booker was going to potentially take over as Denver’s top RB, he was given the ball just twice last week, rushing for 8 yards in the loss at Miami. Bill Musgrave is now the team’s offensive coordinator, and the backfield featured a lot of C.J. Anderson on the ground and both Anderson and Jamaal Charles in the passing game. The Jets are No. 24 versus the run, but with the uncertainty around the Broncos RB situation and the lack of offensive production, Booker does not make for a good fantasy start.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Miami Dolphins

With Paxton Lynch at QB for most of the game last Sunday against the Raiders, the Broncos again found themselves playing from behind starting in the second quarter. Devontae Booker came inches short of catching a TD toss from Lynch and finished with a team-high 6 carries for 11 rushing yards and 2 grabs for 22 receiving yards in the loss. Now that Trevor Siemian is back under center, the Denver offense should show a bit more life. With Booker receiving increased playing time and touches, he makes for a FLEX play at Miami.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Oakland Raiders

Will the change in offensive coordinator mean an even more increase in touches for Devontae Booker? In the loss to the Bengals last Sunday, he led the Broncos with 14 carries for 44 yards and caught 5 passes for 54 yards. Since he returned to the lineup in early October, Booker has steadily become a bigger part of the offense, culminating in the season-high 19 touches last week. In his first action of the year, Booker ran for 14 yards on 3 carries versus the Raiders in Week 4. He makes for an RB3/FLEX play at Oakland, against the seventh-worst defense.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Broncos rushed the ball for 118 yards last Sunday in the loss to the Patriots, but none of the RBs had good fantasy games. Devontae Booker finished with 8 carries for 24 yards and a 5-yard reception. The 8 rushing attempts were a season-high, but the crowded backfield and struggling offense do not make for a good combination. Booker will continue to receive close to 10 touches per game, but there has to be better fantasy options for you out there, even against a poor Cincinnati run defense.

DEN RB Devontae Booker - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. New England Patriots

In the loss to the Eagles last Sunday, Devontae Booker led the team with 21 rushing yards on 6 carries. He also recorded 2 receptions for 9 yards. As the Broncos continue to find themselves playing from behind, the running game has pretty much become an afterthought, which has led to more playing time and touches for Booker. C.J. Anderson is battling an ankle injury, but should be okay to play on Sunday night. Right now, none of the three Denver RBs make for a very good fantasy play, even against the league’s worst defense.
