Scouting report

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7: Bryant vs Giants
Dez Bryant only had four catches last week against Richard Sherman and the Seahawks. No worries as he still was targeted 10 times. Obviously, Bryant is the playmaker that Tony Romo likes best.

On paper, the matchup is a tough one for Bryant as the Giants are 7th in aFPA to wide receivers. That shouldn't be enough to keep him from having a big game. Start Bryant in all leagues and formats as a top 5 fantasy receiver.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6: Bryant vs. Seahawks
Dez Bryant scored a touchdown for the fourth straight game and had a season-high 14 targets. He also had nine catches, but did not eclipse the 100-yard receiving mark.

Bryant will have a tough matchup this week against the Seahawks defense. But he seems to thrive in big games like this. If you own Bryant, you're starting him regardless of matchup.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5: Bryant vs. Texans
The targets for Dez Bryant were low again, and although he did score a touchdown for the third straight week. You have to wonder when Tony Romo is going to start getting the ball to his top playmaker more.

The Texans defense has been average against wide receivers this year, so if Romo targets Bryant like he did in Week 2, big numbers are coming for Dez. Start him in all leagues and hope for a top 5 performance.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4: Bryant vs Saints
After a strong Week 2, Dez Bryant was still relevant last week against the Rams. He scored a TD for the second straight and had 89 yards receiving. Bryant still has the nagging shoulder injury, but he should be able to play through it again.

New Orelans defense has been pretty good at holding down top receivers so far this season. But that shouldn't affect Bryant too much on Sunday. Start him in all leagues and formats as a top 5 receiver for Week 4.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 3, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3: Bryant vs Rams
After a slow start to the season, Dez Bryant exploded last week with 10 catches for 103 yards and touchdown. His bad shoulder seems to be getting better and when he is 100%, we will see numbers like this on a consistent basis.

The Rams pass defense will not match up well with Bryant which means another big day for the Cowboys No. 1 receiver. As long as he doesn't have a setback with the shoulder, Bryant rates a top 5 fantasy receiver for Week 3.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2: Bryant vs Titans
Tony Romo needed Dez Bryant last week, but Bryant was limited in his overall impact with only six targets, four catches and 55 yards. Part of the reason for the poor performance falls on Romo so Bryant is a good candidate for a bounce back week. Bryant did average 16.7 yards per catch which was encouraging.

Week 2 brings a touch matchup against the Titans secondary which was very good in 2013 and Week 1 of 2014. Normally, that would lower the value players, but Bryant has so much talent, we still see him as a top 5 fantasy receiver for Sunday. Start Bryant in all leagues and expect better numbers this week.

DAL WR Dez Bryant - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1: Bryant vs 49ers
Dez Bryant's numbers have steadily climbed since his rookie season. He is now being considered a top 3 fantasy WR as there is no expected drop off with his numbers. He is clearly the No. 1 option for Tony Romo which wasn't always the case. And despite opposing defenses smothering him with coverages, Bryant has prevailed.

The Niners pass defense is tough, but we expect the Cowboys find will ways to get Bryant involved, especially with the deep ball. He still rates right around the top 5 for Week 1. Start him in all leagues and formats.
