Scouting report

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns
Diontae Johnson had three catches for 29 yards on six targets last week. He's averaging nearly six targets per game this season and with JuJu Smith-Schuster still out, should get plenty of looks coming his way. But the Steelers' passing offense is pretty weak right now, so Johnson is more of a flex play than anything else.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cincinnati Bengals
Diontae Johnson caught just two passes for 17 yards on four targets before being forced out of the last game against the Browns on a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit. He's working his way through concussion protocol and seems to be on track to play this week. But he does still have to clear the final hurdle -- an independent neurologist. With JuJu Smith-Schuster out, Johnson could be a focal point. He had six catches for 77 yards and a score in the first meeting against the Bengals.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Cleveland Browns
Diontae Johnson turned six targets last week into four catches for 64 yards and also took over the punt return duties. He's primed to continue to be a bigger part of the passing game. But the passing game remains a work in progress, which makes Johnson little more than a flex option on most weeks, including this one.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Diontae Johnson struggled at times getting off press coverage last week and got just two targets for one catch and three yards. He also ran the ball once for two yards in a performance to forget. There were times he was open, however, and Mason Rudolph didn't let it rip. Johnson is a flex option, at best, this week against the Rams.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Diontae Johnson hasn't gotten fewer than six targets in a game started by Mason Rudolph this season, including getting seven last week while catching five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. In fact, with Rudolph at QB, JuJu Smith-Schuster has gotten 29 targets and Johnson has gotten 27. Johnson also has 16 catches in Rudolph's last three starts, so don't be afraid to play him as a low-end WR3, high-end flex play this week.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Miami Dolphins
Diontae Johnson is getting more and more looks in the Steelers offense and that should pick up even more in the second half of their season. Coming out of the bye, Johnson will benefit from the return of Mason Rudolph this week. He's got a juicy matchup against the Dolphins and should be a solid flex play or low-end WR3.

PIT WR Diontae Johnson - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Los Angeles Chargers
Diontae Johnson got a career-high eight targets last week and caught five passes, but they went for just 27 yards. It also ended a two-game scoring streak for him. He also played 91 percent of the snaps last week, and that's not going to change, especially with James Washington out this week with a shoulder injury. Johnson is a solid start as a flex option.
