CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Green Bay Packers

Duke Johnson had his worst game of the season last week, rushing 7 times (tied for second-most this season) for just 2 yards. He also only caught 2 passes (season-low) for 10 yards. It was a confusing performance based on the matchup and a frustrating one for anyone who played him. For now, we'll consider it an anomaly.

He gets a similar matchup this week against the Packers as the two teams have similar stats when it comes to defending backs. Green Bay has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing rushers this season, so perhaps it's time for a bounce back game.

Johnson should be viewed as a FLEX play or RB3 in PPR and standard formats.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Los Angeles Chargers

Duke Johnson has been doing a lot when he gets the ball, but the problem is he's not getting the ball very much. He's now been held to no more than 10 touches in back-to-back games despite playing well in both. Johnson has been much more valuable in PPR formats, as he's now had at least 4 receptions in five straight games.

Johnson gets a very favorable matchup this week against the Chargers, as his receiving role should be highlighted. The Chargers have allowed the most receptions to running backs (69) this season, which obviously bodes well for Johnson.

He should be viewed as a solid RB2 in PPR formats and a FLEX play in standard.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Cincinnati Bengals

Duke Johnson played well last week, but didn't get many opportunities as he finished with 6 touches (4 receptions). He did finish with the team's only touchdown of the game, en route to a solid fantasy outing, at least in PPR formats.

He gets a decent matchup this week against the Bengals, a team he finished with 60 total yards against earlier in the year. But he had 9 receptions in that game, giving him a massive boost in PPR leagues.

Johnson will remain an RB2 in PPR formats, while being nothing more than a flex play in standard leagues.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Duke Johnson had a solid outing last week, finishing with 88 total yards (54 rush, 34 receiving) and 6 receptions for PPR purposes. Johnson is now averaging about 4-to-5 receptions per game, giving him extra value in those leagues. But he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 4, which gives him a limited ceiling.

He gets a favorable matchup this week against the Jaguars, and he could have a decent role as a receiver out of the backfield. Jacksonville's pass defense will make it tough on Cleveland's wideouts, so Johnson could end up catching some short passes instead.

Johnson should continue to be viewed as a strong flex play in PPR formats.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Detroit Lions

Duke Johnson had a bit of a down game the last time the Browns played, rushing 6 times for 33 yards and catching 4 passes for 10 yards. His 43 total yards were his lowest output since Week 1 of the season.

He gets a decent matchup this week against the Lions, and should improve from his numbers two weeks ago. Johnson has been pretty reliable this season, especially in PPR formats. He's a low-end flex in standard, and a strong RB2 in PPR.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Vikings (game in London)

Duke Johnson continued his strong season, at least in PPR, last week when he caught 6-of-7 targets for 45 yards. He also added 26 yards on 7 carries. Johnson had a hot streak earlier in the season, finding the end zone often, but he's cooled off a bit lately.

He'll likely continue to struggle this week as the Browns face the Vikings, who have allowed the fewest fantasy points to opposing backs this season. There's been little success on the ground, as well as through the air for running backs against this defense all season. Johnson is a flex option in standard and a low-end RB2 in PPR formats.

CLE RB Duke Johnson - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Tennessee Titans

As expected, Duke Johnson struggled last week in a tough matchup. He also played with Kevin Hogan, who doesn't dump it off as often as DeShone Kizer did. So the good news for Johnson is he gets Kizer back this week, and he gets a good matchup.

The Titans have been fairly tough against backs on the ground, but not so much in the air, which is where most of Johnson's production comes from. He should be able to bounce back this week where he should be viewed as a strong RB2 in PPR formats and a flex play in standard.
