GB RB Eddie Lacy - Week 2, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Eddie Lacy Week 2 vs Jets
Lacy got just 12 carries last week for 34 yards before leaving with concussion-like symptoms. He caught a couple of passes as well, but it was tough sledding against the Seahawks in Seattle. He has passed concussion tests thus far and should be good to go unless he has a late setback. This week's matchup isn't particularly favorable on the ground, either. The Jets limited the Raiders to 25 yards rushing on 15 carries. But the Jets also had no respect for a rookie quarterback making his first start. Aaron Rodgers and company should scare the bejeezus out of them and keep New York from loading up on the run. If he's ready to go, you have to start Lacy.

GB RB Eddie Lacy - Week 1, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Eddie Lacy, Week 1 vs Seahawks
Like Aaron Rodgers or some of his other teammates, you didn't take Eddie Lacy where you did with the thought he was going to have to sit in Week 1 because the Packers play a tough Seattle defense on the road. He has to be in your lineup. That said, keep your expectation's tempered, though some big power backs have has some success against Seattle, which also lost three of its big defensive linemen from last season. The Packers will use Lacy to slow down Seattle's pass rush. He's also likely to catch more passes than he did a year ago. We still have Lacy as a No. 1 running back despite the tough matchup and you should too.

GB RB Eddie Lacy - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
There’s a lot to like here, as Lacy put up 1,435 yards from scrimmage and 11 scores as a rookie last season in 15 games. He plays in an explosive, high-scoring offense and a healthy Aaron Rodgers will keep opponents honest.

Fantasy Downside
The Packers sometimes fall in love with the pass, leaving Lacy as a forgotten option.

Bottom Line
Lacy should see increased snaps this season on passing downs as well, so it’s no surprise his ADP is 8th overall. He should live up to that lofty status if he stays healthy and could wind up being a top-five pick by season’s end. You do worry that he’ll get banged up a little because he doesn’t make many people miss, but he’s a grinder with surprising speed. He should easily top 1,500 total yards and get a dozen scores this season.
