Scouting report

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Cleveland Browns
George Pickens' slump continues with only six catches for 66 yards over the last three games. Since Diontae Johnson's return, Pickens' numbers have regressed. It won't much easier this week as he faces the Browns who are ranked sixth in aFPA to wide receivers.

In the first meeting, he had a big game with four receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. But we don't expect that again. Keep Pickens on the bench for Week 11.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Green Bay Packers
George Pickens has been in a slump and there have been attitude issue to go with it. He only had two catches last week for -1 yards and has three catches total in the last two games. There is little doubt in Pickens' talent, but the maturity level might not be quite there yet.

Pickens faces Green Bay who ranks eighth in aFPA to wide receivers. Managers have to think he will eventually get on track, but with a Steelers offense that struggles, who knows when?

Start Pickens as a WR3 or Flex for Week 10. With an unfavorable matchup and his recent struggles, his ceiling is high but his floor is also lower than earlier in the season.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee Titans
George Pickens had season-lows in receptions (1) and receiving yardage (22). If not for a touchdown, he would have had a pretty bad fantasy day. A lot of the problems stem from the Steelers offense. Blame Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky, or OC Matt Canada, but the Steelers' skill players are not fulfilling fantasy expectations.

That could change this week as the matchup is very favorable. Tennessee is ranked 29th in aFPA to wide receivers. QB Kenny Pickett is expected to play and he has a good relationship with Pickens.

Start Pickens as solid WR2 for Week 9 because even with Pittsburgh's offensive woes, Pickens is capable of a big game each week.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
George Pickens had back-to-back 100+ receiving yard games for the first time in his career. He has three on the season after only recording one in 2022. Pickens seems to be QB Kenny Pickett's favorite target, especially downfield.

Pickens faces the Jaguars who are ranked 24th in aFPA to wide receivers. With the favorable matchup and the Steelers offense improving with Pickens the main target, he could have another big day.

Start Pickens as a solid WR2 for Week 8. Managers are starting to see consistency from the second-year receiver which raises his fantasy value.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Los Angeles Rams
Before the bye week, George Pickens had his second 100+ receiving yard game of the season and double-digit targets as well. It's hard to understand why the Steelers haven't thrown him the ball more, especially in the absence of target machine Diontae Johnson.

Pickens has a tough matchup against the Rams who are ranked 4th in aFPA to wide receivers. Johnson returns this week, but Pickens should still be the big-play receiver for Pittsburgh.

Start Pickens as WR3 or Flex for Week 7. We trust him to be a good fantasy option each week, but we still don't trust the Steelers overall offense.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Baltimore Ravens
George Pickens had only three receptions for 25 yards and zero touchdowns last Sunday which was his worst game of the season. The Steelers offense is awful and that affects Pickens and the other skill players. Not sure if it's going to get better anytime soon.

Pittsburgh faces Baltimore who has been average this season so there may be an opportunity for Pickens to raise those fantasy numbers.

Start Pickens as a low-end WR2 for Week 5. The Steelers offense isn't good but it has to be better than it looked last week no matter who the quarterback is.

PIT WR George Pickens - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Houston Texans
George Pickens had another strong game as the Steelers' No. 1 receiver with four receptions for 75 yards. He definitely is capable of big plays each week and although the Pittsburgh passing game is still a work-in-progress, he is getting numbers the last two weeks.

Pickens faces the Texans who are ranked 10th in aFPA to wide receivers. There is little doubt that he can become one of the better wide receivers in the league, but the rest of the offense has to get better and that's not going to happen fast.

Start Pickens as a low-end WR2 for Week 4. Even with a tough matchup, we think he will continue to put up decent numbers.
