Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Olsen looks like he’s good to go after his return last week. He played 98% of the snaps and saw seven targets.

Panthers team source tells NFL Network as of now, Greg Olsen is playing and they are planning to start him tomorrow. They said Olsen has had no setbacks so far, that he’s had a good week.

Fantasy Impact: 

We are concerned Olsen will not play a full load of snaps in his return from another foot injury. That keeps him out of our TE1 options for Week 6. In his first game back from injury last year, Olsen only played 34 percent of snaps, catching just one of four targets.

Greg Olsen is officially questionable for Sunday's game. But coach Ron Rivera likes his chances.

Fantasy Impact: 

It's not a stone cold lock Olsen plays, but Rivera is making all the right noises, so we expect him to be out there. How effective he will be against the Redskins' seventh-ranked defense against tight ends in our Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed metric is another story. Already slowing down due to age and wear-and-tear and now nursing a foot that Olsen has admitted will need surgery this off-season won't make the 33-year-old any sprier. Our number 17 tight end for the week and at risk of re-injury, there are probably better options for all but the most desperate owner.

Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot, questionable) took full practice reps again Friday and is questionable for Week 6. It looks like Olsen will play. His return will put a dent in Devin Funchess’ upside. Since 2017, in eight games with Olsen in the lineup, Funchess has averaged 3.1-47-0.25. In 12 games without Olsen in the lineup, Funchess has averaged 4.7-59-0.58.
