Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) missed practice again Thursday. Benjamin returned to Week 6’s game against the Bengals after taking a big hit from Vontaze Burfict. He apparently showed up with a headache early in the week and is now going through the league’s concussion protocol. We’re worried about his Week 7 availability, though the team seems optimistic. The Panthers play early on Sunday, but we should know his status by Saturday. His absence would be a downgrade for Cam Newton and an upgrade for Greg Olsen and Jerricho Cotchery.

In four games, opposing tight ends have caught 33 passes for 395 yards against the Benngals. Last week against the Patriots, Rob Gronkowski and Tim Wright victimized the Bengals’ defense for 185 yards on 11 catches and two touchdowns.

The Panthers don’t just have Greg Olsen. Ed Dickson, who signed with Carolina this offseason from Baltimore, recorded his first catches of the season last week against the Bears.

Dickson has worked on his chemistry with quarterback Cam Newton this season, and Newton seems more comfortable throwing the ball to Dickson as the Panthers offense evolves.

Fantasy Impact: 

The writer believes Panther TEs could be key against the Bengals again this week and that's good news for Olsen and his owners. Olsen is officially listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but all indications are he's going to play. However, it's something to keep an eye on leading up to the game.

Panthers TE Greg Olsen (ankle, questionable) returned to take limited reps Friday after missing practice earlier in the week and is questionable for Week 6. We expect Olsen to play against the Bengals. The Panthers are just trying to give his ankle time to heal.
