Fantasy Upside
In 2010 and 2011 Hakeem Nicks had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the New York Giants. He even hauled in 11 touchdowns during the 2010 year. While that seems like forever ago in fantasy land, remember that Nicks is still just 26 years old. He still has talent and is in a good situation in Indianapolis with a top-notch quarterback delivering him the ball.
Fantasy Downside
The former Giant has struggled in recent years. He managed to stay healthy in 2013, starting in 15 games, but he didn't produce...at all. He caught 56 passes for 896 yards and finished with no touchdowns. Nicks is also behind both Reggie Wayne and T.Y. Hilton on the depth chart, meaning he'll be limited for touches.
Bottom Line
Nicks looked good in the preseason game against his former team. He caught five passes for 53 yards and had a 36-yard catch get called back due to a penalty. Maybe all Nicks needs is a change of scenery. The biggest setback for Nicks is that he's not the No. 1 target in the Colts' offense. At best, Nicks looks to be a bye-week filler. He's worth a stash on your bench, but he can't be trusted as a reliable starter.
