Fantasy Upside
The Steelers’ 2012 MVP, Heath Miller, is now more than a year and a half removed from a torn ACL suffered at the end of his MVP campaign. The Steelers also lost more than 130 receptions and 16 touchdowns in 2013, and somebody has to take up the slack.
Fantasy Downside
Miller had just one touchdown catch in 2012 and had two in 2011, making his eight scores in 2012 a possible aberration.
Bottom Line
Miller is more valuable as a football player than he is as a fantasy player. But he did have 71 receptions on 101 targets in 2012, gaining 816 yards and scoring eight times. His targets fell to 78 in 2013, though he missed a couple of games while coming back from the knee injury. The Steelers are going to need someone to help make up for the missing red zone production, and he’s a good place to start. I expect at least six scores this season and solid No. 2 tight end production.
