KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Isiah Pacheco once again held a clear lead in Kansas City's backfield when it comes to running the ball. Last week he ran 15 times for 107 yards, becoming the first Chiefs back to rush for 100 yards since Week 4 of last year. Although he once again failed to score a touchdown, and once again saw no targets. Pacheco has seen zero targets in eight of his 10 games played, which really limits his scoring when it comes to PPR formats. He could be utilized a little more this week as Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been placed on injured reserve, but we'd still expect Jerick McKinnon to handle most of the receiving duties. Still, Pacheco has shown enough to make him a valuable RB2/flex option. We'd like him more if he had a better matchup, but he unfortunately faces the Rams who have given up the 5th-fewest average fantasy points to opposing running backs.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Los Angeles Chargers

The backfield shift in Kansas City has seemingly officially happened. Isiah Pacheco saw a season-high 16 carries last week in, playing in a season-high 56% of the offensive snaps. Pacheco finished with 82 yards on the ground, although he saw no targets out of the backfield and lost a fumble. The split here used to be between three backs, but now it seems Kansas City is content with having Pacheco as their rusher while Jerick McKinnon works on passing downs. Clyde Edwards-Helaire might be phased out completely after playing just four snaps in Week 10. As for Week 11, Pacheco should see a similar role with lots of carries and very little action as a receiver. He faces a Chargers defense that's given up the 3rd-most average fantasy points to opposing running backs. Given the way everything is trending, Pacheco should be viewed as a solid RB2 play this week.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Isiah Pacheco once again technically drew the start in Week 9, but that didn't mean much. He ran the ball five times for five yards, and caught his only target for four yards. He also continued his kick return duties, finishing with 39 return yards. Pacheco played a little more than Clyde Edwards-Helaire, seeing five more offensive snaps. But he was still behind Jerick McKinnon on playing time, seeing 40 less offensive snaps. Pacheco gets a decent matchup against the Jaguars in Week 10, but the split usage between the three Chiefs backs doesn't make him much more than a desperation RB3/flex play. He gets a slight boost in return yardage leagues as the Jaguars have given up the 9th-most kick return yards in the NFL this season.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Tennessee Titans

Isiah Pacheco technically drew the start in Week 7 and ran the ball eight times for 43 yards while seeing no targets. Pacheco also maintained his kick returning duties, adding 126 yards, the third time this season he's topped 90 return yards. As for his offensive production, he played a season-high 30% of the offensive snaps in Week 7, which was slightly more than Clyde Edwards-Helaire (27%) but less than Jerick McKinnon (44%). Pacheco has been decent as a runner this season, but has been a non-factor as a receiving threat. Of Pacheco's 74 offensive snaps this season, he's only seen two targets. This three-headed Kansas City backfield has been effective in real-life, but frustrating for fantasy owners. Pacheco has some appeal in leagues where return yards count, but he may not see enough touches on offense to make him a strong play in most leagues. Plus, he'll face a tough Titans run defense that's 5th in aFPA to RBs this season. Pacheco should be viewed as RB3/flex play in Week 9.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at San Francisco 49ers

Isiah Pacheco had just two carries for nine yards last week. He also saw his first two targets of the season, finishing with two receptions for nine yards. Pacheco played in 15% of the offensive snaps, which is the most he's played in a non-blowout. Still, Pacheco just isn't seeing the field enough to make him someone worth playing. He's an easy avoid in Week 7 against the 49ers.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Buffalo Bills

As we mentioned last week, Isiah Pacheco seems to only really get touches when the Chiefs get out to a big lead. Pacheco had just one touch in Week 5 as the Chiefs fought to come back from down 17-0. We wouldn't expect him to see many touches in what should be a close game against the Bills in Week 6.

KC RB Isiah Pacheco - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Isiah Pacheco has seen some increased usage in blowout games. He had 12 carries in Week 1 and had 11 carries last week. He's been productive when given the ball, but so far he's only been used when the Chiefs have a big lead. In the two close games in Week 2 and Week 3 he played a total of 10 offensive snaps. Pacheco will be a must-add waiver addition if Clyde Edwards-Helaire gets injured. But for now, he's not worth playing.
