IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jacoby Brissett had over 300 yards passing last week against the Titans – for just the third time this year – but he threw one touchdown to two uncharacteristic interceptions in a tough division loss that really hurt the Colts’ post-season chances. Brissett has been efficient at times this season, but he’s yet to become a viable and consistent fantasy starter, and his ball-control approach to the game should make fantasy owners wary of trusting him long term.

Brissett does have the ability to take advantage of a good matchup from time to time however, and the Buccaneers rank 26th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season. While not a top option by any means, desperate fantasy owners needing someone to stream or looking for a QB2 option might consider Brissett in an excellent matchup.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Tennessee Titans

Jacoby Brissett struggled in what should’ve been a great matchup against the Texans last week. He threw for only 129 yards in a close loss. He did add 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground, but it was still an overall disappointing performance for fantasy owners expecting bigger things against a vulnerable defense. The Colts seemed committed to running the ball, even without starter Marlon Mack, making it hard to predict big fantasy numbers for Brissett moving forward.

This week, Brissett faces a Titans defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this year. They just held Nick Foles without a touchdown pass last week and are still fighting for a potential playoff spot. This is going to be a tough game between two division rivals and will likely feature a strong rushing attack from both teams. Brissett should be considered a QB2 at best this week as we have him ranked just inside our top-20.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Houston Texans

Jacoby Brissett salvaged a limited fantasy performance through the air last week with a rushing touchdown, but he finished with only 12 yards rushing and 148 passing, throwing a touchdown and a pick. Brissett has been successful for the Colts this year, leading the team to a 6-3 record as a starter and winning in a variety of different ways, but his bread and butter is his 15/4 TD/Interception ratio.

Brissett has a few nice matchups on the slate to close out the season, giving him streaming and QB2 value, starting with this week against the Texans. Houston ranks 24th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season and just got torched by Lamar Jackson on Sunday to the tune of four passing touchdowns. Brissett is a nice option for owners with bye week troubles or for season-long streamers.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacoby Brissett missed last week against the Dolphins after suffering an injury against Pittsburgh in Week 9, but he’s supposed to be ready to go against the Jaguars this week. Brissett has been a nice surprise for Colts fans, tossing a modest 14 touchdowns compared to only three interceptions on his way to a 5-3 record as a starter. He offers very little upside, but has proven to be a serviceable QB2 in most weeks, especially when he has a nice matchup.

The Jaguars rank 16th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season, giving Brissett some upside in what could be a competitive game. Jacksonville allowed a pair of touchdowns to DeShaun Watson in London before their bye last week, but they only sacked Watson once the entire game. If Brissett gets similar protection, he should be worth considering as a QB2 option. There should be better streaming options in leagues that feature one quarterback, however.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Miami Dolphins

Jacoby Brissett sprained his MCL last week against the Steelers, exiting the game early in what ended up being a close loss that came down to a missed field goal. Brissett has been efficient this season, but he’s questionable heading into Week 10, making him a risky option. Desperate fantasy owners could gamble on his health against the league’s fourth-worst defense against quarterbacks – only the Buccaneers, Cardinals and Raiders rank lower in aFPA to the position this year – but in most cases, staying away from the Colts’ quarterbacks entirely might be the better move.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Pittsburgh Steelers

Jacoby Brissett led the team to a late field goal that secured the victory over the Broncos last week, but largely struggled in a low-scoring affair. He finished with only 202 yards without throwing a touchdown. He was also sacked a season-high four times. He added 34 yards on the ground, helping his fantasy totals, but his game has mostly been about efficiency this year rather than gaudy fantasy numbers.

This week, Brissett faces a Steelers defense that ranks fifth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, making it hard to get too excited about him. Ryan Fitzpatrick opened up the game sharp against this defense on Monday, but then struggled to close the game and wound up throwing a pair of interceptions. Brissett should fare better, but expect another efficient day without impressive fantasy numbers, making him a risky start in 1QB leagues.

IND QB Jacoby Brissett - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Denver Broncos

Jacoby Brissett had a fantastic game against the Texans last week, throwing for 326 yards and four touchdowns without an interception in a big Colts victory. Brissett has been tremendously efficient this season, completing 65% of his passes on his way to 14 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He’s been a steady hand for a roster that’s been surprisingly competitive.

This week, Brissett has a tough matchup against a Denver defense that ranks third in the league in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. If he hits his averages for the season, however – 231 yards and 2.3 touchdowns – he’ll be worth streaming in deep leagues. He’s a fringe starter this week in a tough matchup, or a quality QB2 in leagues that allow you to start two passers.
