Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace has a high ankle sprain, said a league source.

It's the same injury that sidelined Jake Delhomme for three full games. When Delhomme relieved Wallace Sunday against Atlanta, he was hobbled throughout the second half and ultimately suffered another sprain to his lower ankle.

Wallace will not be ruled out for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh, however. The source said Wallace will embark on an aggressive rehabilitation program this week in an effort to play.

Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme entered Sunday's game late in the second quarter to replace starter Seneca Wallace, who suffered a right ankle injury against the Atlanta Falcons.

Wallace, making his fourth consecutive start for Delhomme, was hurt when he was sacked by Falcons defensive end Jonathan Abraham. Wallace hopped off the field on his left foot before being evaluated by Cleveland's training staff. He walked gingerly to the locker room at halftime.

Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme is expected to return today after missing the past three games with a right high-ankle sprain. In Delhomme's absence, Seneca Wallace earned a respectable passer rating of 82.2 while controlling the offense. But Browns coach Eric Mangini has made it clear Delhomme is the team's No. 1 quarterback when he's healthy, and the latter has practiced all week. If Delhomme can complete his comeback today against the Atlanta Falcons, he might have flashbacks to his NFC South days with the Carolina Panthers. In 12 starts against the Falcons, Delhomme went 6-6 and compiled a rating of 90.1.
