Scouting report

NE WR Jakobi Meyers - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New York Jets
Jakobi Meyers lined up for 70% of New England's offensive snaps in Week 6 due to injuries to Phillip Dorsett and Josh Gordon and turned a season-high four targets into 54 receiving yards. Dorsett's return should temper expectations for Week 7, but Meyers' efficiency should go a long way toward earning him a larger target volume moving forward.

NE WR Jakobi Meyers - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs New York Giants
After losing Phillip Dorsett very early in their Week 5 matchup with Washington, it wouldn't have been surprising to see Jakobi Meyers inherit some of Dorsett's targets. Instead, Tom Brady allocated those targets to multiple options that included four targets to tight end Matt LaCosse, two targets each to tight end Ryan Izzo and fullback Jakob Johnson, three targets to Sony Michel, one target to Brandon Bolden, and just two total targets for Meyers.

That may have been a result of a game plan changing on the fly with the loss of Dorsett, but halftime adjustments certainly didn't feature Meyers either. With a short week to implement what projects to be a pass-heavy offense against the Giants, Meyers continues to be a candidate for increased volume, but he's a risky start as a WR5 at best for now.

NE WR Jakobi Meyers - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Buffalo Bills
Jakobi Meyers isn't seeing a large enough snap share to be utilized as a fantasy option at wide receiver yet, but his low 39% snap share through Week 3 is a bit misleading. He played in 11% of the Patriots' offensive snaps in Week 1, 0% in Week Two in Antonio Brown's lone game as a Patriot, and then 64% last week against the Jets. That drastic increase is somewhat due to Julian Edelman being knocked out of the game before halftime, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on, as Meyers caught 2 of his 3 targets for 38 yards. If Edelman were to miss the game, or if the Patriots experience any further injuries at the position moving forward, Meyers' value could drastically increase. He's definitely someone to keep on your radar.
