PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Washington Commanders
The Eagles and Jalen Hurts bounced back last week after suffering their first loss of the season. Hurts threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns on Sunday night. He also had his third straight game with a rushing touchdown. Hurts seems to be settling in after an up and down start to the season.

Hurts will face the Commanders for the second time this season. Washington is ranked 29th in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the first meeting, he threw for a season-high 319 yards and two touchdown passes.

Start Hurts as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 8. Even though he has had some success against Washington, it has been a tougher task on the road for him and that could affect his numbers slightly.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Miami Dolphins
Jalen Hurts did not take care of the football in the Eagles' loss last week, with three interceptions. Otherwise his fantasy numbers were acceptable with 280 pass yards and one touchdown pass and one run. He ran for 47 yards as well. Expect a shootout with a very good Miami offense.

The Dolphins defense is ranked 24th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Hurts will have opportunities in the passing and running game so the numbers should be good as long as he stays away from the turnovers.

Start Hurts as the top fantasy quarterback for Week 7. Lots of points for both teams and a clear advantage against the 'Fins defense puts Hurts' managers in a good spot.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at New York Jets
The Eagles offense is settling in and Jalen Hurts is starting to resemble the quarterback we saw last season. Last week, he threw for 303 yards and a touchdown. But he had a season-high 72 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown, which had been lacking so far in 2023.

Hurts faces the Jets who are ranked 6th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It will be a tough game for the Eagles offense against an above average New York defense.

But we still like the way Hurts has been playing in recent weeks with back-to-back 300+ passing yard games. Start him as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 6.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Los Angeles Rams
Jalen Hurts had his first multi-passing touchdown game of the season and threw for a season-high 319 passing yards. He added 34 rushing yards which has been his average this season. It still might be below expectations but better than recent weeks from the passing game standpoint.

Hurts faces the Rams who are ranked 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. It has been an interesting start to the season because the Eagles are 4-0 and he hasn't played his best game yet.

Start Hurts as a top-five fantasy quarterback for Week 5. Although it would be nice for his rushing numbers to be back up, the passing game seems to be clicking and that will help his fantasy numbers stay at a high level.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Washington Commanders
Jalen Hurts had his best passing game of the young season throwing for 277 yards, but he only had one touchdown pass and added a pick. He rushed for only 28 yards, but did score his third rushing touchdown of the season.

Hurts faces an average Washington defense this Sunday. Last season, he threw five touchdown passes in the two meetings. One game he threw for 340 yards while only throwing for 175 in the other.

Start Hurts as one of the top fantasy quarterbacks for Week 4. We still haven't seen a monster fantasy game from him at this point so he is due. Expect him to have a good day throwing and running the ball.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
After a subpar Week 1, Jalen Hurts wasn't much better in Week 2 except he was responsible for three touchdowns. He has now been under 200 passing yards in both games and under 40 yards rushing. No reason to panic just yet, but he isn't living up to the preseason fantasy hype so far.

Hurts faces Tampa Bay who is ranked 20th in aFPA to quarterbacks. He has felt more pressure this season from opposing defenses who have sacked him seven times. Philly might have to tweak their game plan a little to help him to get on track.

Start Hurts as a top-5 fantasy quarterback for Week 3. Eventually, he will get to the level we expect and that should happen this week with a favorable matchup against the Bucs.

PHI QB Jalen Hurts - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Minnesota Vikings
Jalen Hurts had an underwhelming opener which was disappointing to managers who drafted him. The expectations were through the roof and he only threw for 171 yards which wasn't surprising from the standpoint he had games like that last season. The issue was he only rushed for 37 yards and was only responsible for one total touchdown.

The Vikings are the next opponent coming off a short week. We expect the Eagles offense to still be good this year and Hurts should bounce back against a below-average Minnesota defense.

Start Hurts as the top fantasy quarterback for Week 2. Philly will get their offense going and we will see the numbers for Hurts be closer to the 300 yard mark this Sunday.
