SF RB JaMycal Hasty - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Green Bay Packers

It seems like it might be JaMycal Hasty for the foreseeable future in the 49ers’ backfield, so grab him if he’s still available. It’s risky to trust him, as Jerick McKinnon is still lurking, but he had 12 carries for 29 yards and a touchdown last week, and McKinnon had just three carries in a loss to the Seahawks. The 49ers are watching their season fall apart behind a rash of injuries, so they might as well see what they have in Hasty before heading into the offseason.

The Packers gave up 100 touchdowns to Dalvin Cook last week, who just scored three more while I was writing this blurb. It’s hard to imagine the 49ers staying in this game long enough to run the ball effectively, but the Packers have now had two complete duds this season, so you never know. Hasty has some very risky RB2 potential this week against the league’s lowest-ranked defense in aFPA to opposing running backs.

SF RB JaMycal Hasty - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Seattle Seahawks

JaMycal Hasty had 57 yards on nine carries last week against the Patriots, adding one reception for 16 yards in the passing game. Hasty took a backseat to Jeff Wilson, and it’s unlikely he gets a full workload this week against the Seahawks with Jerick McKinnon (possibly?) back in the lineup. That being said, Wilson is dealing with an ankle now, and apparently, Kyle Shanahan will sit McKinnon on a lark, so maybe Hasty could get a full workload one of these games? Hard to trust, and fantasy owners might want to roster Hasty, but leave him on the bench until we get a clearer picture of workload in the San Francisco backfield.

SF RB JaMycal Hasty - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at New England Patriots

JaMycal Hasty got some work last week against the Rams after Raheem Mostert left the game with an ankle injury. He ended up with nine carries for 37 yards. With Mostert likely to miss a few weeks, Hasty should get supplemental work, but he’s unlikely to supplant Jerick McKinnon, who served as the lead back when Mostert was out earlier this season. Sit him for now, but he’s worth a speculative roster addition in deep leagues.
