Scouting report

by Jordan Heck

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 17 vs. Chicago Bears
Jarius Wright finished with his second touchdown in three games last week. He's starting to become a little more involved in the Vikings' offense. He's still an overly reliable option, however. He should be viewed as a WR4.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 15 vs. Detroit Lions

Jarius Wright blew up last week for the second time this season. He caught four passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in a favorable matchup against the Jets. This week he gets a not-so-great matchup against Detroit.

Expect Wright's numbers to take a major dip this week. He usually doesn't have much production.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 11 vs. Chicago
Jarius Wright has 30 receiving yards or less in seven out of nine games this season. He's not a good option in fantasy.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 9 vs. Washington
Jarius Wright had a 132-yard performance in Week 4. He has 154 yards in his seven other games combined. Last week he finished with just 13 yards. He's not a big factor in the Vikings' offense and isn't worth a look this week.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 8 vs. Tampa Bay

Jarius Wright has more receptions (22) and yards (273) than his teammate Cordarrelle Patterson this season. He had a solid game last week as he caught four passes for 60 yards against Buffalo.

He'll draw a favorable matchup this week against Tampa Bay. But a good matchup doesn't mean he's worth starting. Wright's had an up-and-down season and is highly unpredictable. He's a WR5 with upside this week.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 7 vs. Buffalo

Jarius Wright's big Week 4 performance is looking more like an anomaly than a sign of things to come. In Week 6 he caught four passes for a measly 17 yards. He also had a rushing attempt go for 21 yards. Surprisingly Wright is second on the team in receptions (18) and yards (213) behind only Greg Jennings.

He'll get a favorable matchup this week against Buffalo, but is a risky play. He's not worth much more than a WR4.

MIN WR Jarius Wright - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jarius Wright - Week 6 vs. Detroit

Jarius Wright is an interesting option this week. In Teddy Bridgewater's only career start, he seemed to favor Wright over his other receiving options. Wright caught eight balls for 132 yards on 10 targets, and almost hauled in a long touchdown pass as well.

He didn't do so well with Christian Ponder as the quarterback (no one did), but Wright still saw a healthy eight targets in the game.

Wright has a tough matchup this week, but it'll be interesting to see if his and Bridgewater's chemistry continues. He should be used as a WR5 with upside.
