DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs Chargers

Javonte Williams is coming off a bye week in which he led the Broncos backfield in snaps played the week before, if that continues this weekend and Williams sees the majority of the snaps again we could be looking at a breakout performance against a Chargers team that has been weak against the run this year. The Chargers are currently leading the league in rushing yards allowed in 2021.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Eagles

Javonte Williams is coming on strong and only keeps showing improvements on a weekly basis, unfortunately, that hasn't translated to Williams seeing a lion's share of the work but he still is getting a ton of work. Williams has outrushed Gordon the past two weeks to a tune of 146 yards to Gordons 127 yards while receiving fewer touches than Gordon (26/31). This week should feature both backs again with Vegas having the Broncos as a 2.5 point favorite over the Eagles.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cowboys

Javonte Williams continues to split backfield work with Melvin Gordon even if he's not getting the majority of snaps. Williams has only five fewer carries in the past two weeks. The main difference between the two is Gordon has found the endzone three times in the past two games while Williams has not. Both are worth chasing as touchdown-dependent flex plays.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs Football Team

Javonte Williams is having a very good rookie year, it's just the Denver coaching staff seems to value Melvin Gordon's veteran presence a lot as well, so even though we want the rookie to take over, we have to be patient as it may take an injury for Williams to be fully unlocked. This week he takes on a Washington Football Team only allowing 3.5 YPC which is second in the NFL. Unless Williams can find himself in the end zone like last week, he might be better left as a floor instead of a ceiling play.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Browns

Javonte Williams takes on a Cleveland Browns defense that currently touts a top six run defense in points allowed to opposing RBs this fantasy season. According to our adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) tool, the Browns currently allow only about 15 fantasy points per game. With the current landscape of bye weeks, you'll be hard-pressed to find a better option than Williams this week as a floor-based play. Last week Williams only played on 47% of the snaps which was another week where Melvin Gordon led the Denver Broncos in RB snap share.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs Raiders

Good News: Javonte Williams saw his snap share increase for three straight weeks.
Bad News: Javonte Williams saw a 9% decrease in his snap share in Week 5.

We should be chasing Williams upside, but one thing is clear, Melvin Gordon has turned out to be a bigger thorn in Williams workload than we were hoping. This week he takes on a Las Vegas Raiders team that is bleeding fantasy points on the ground. Just a week ago, both Khalil Herbert and Damien Williams of the Chicago Bears were top 24 options.

DEN RB Javonte Williams - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Steelers

Javonte Williams has been a shining star since he entered the league, unfortunately, he's not getting the touches for us to actually use him in fantasy lineups. This week the Denver Broncos take on a Pittsburgh Steelers team that has been formidable against the run, and Williams won't have many holes to take advantage of. The Steelers according to Football Outsiders has a top seven rushing defense on the year. It's better to look elsewhere this week.
