Scouting report

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Jeremy Ross vs. Arizona Cardinals
Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate received 28 of Matthew Stafford’s 40 passing attempts in the win over the Dolphins last week. Jeremy Ross was targeted twice, leading to just a five-yard catch. Ross should no longer be on a fantasy roster now that Johnson is healthy.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Jeremy Ross vs. Miami Dolphins
On the season, Jeremy Ross has 15 grabs for 192 yards and one TD. And this included three full games when Calvin Johnson was out. Now that Megatron is back, there is no reason for Ross to be on your roster.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Jeremy Ross vs. Atlanta Falcons
Calvin Johnson continues to miss time, but Jeremy Ross has not done too much in his absence, collecting three receptions for 32 yards in the win over the Saints last Sunday. Ross only has 12 catches on the season, so look elsewhere for a starting WR.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Jeremy Ross vs. New Orleans Saints
Jeremy Ross had just an eight-yard reception on three targets last week against the Vikings. Calvin Johnson will likely sit again, but be cautious about starting Ross, even against the No. 25 team in the league at stopping the pass.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Jeremy Ross vs. Minnesota Vikings
Even with Calvin Johnson battling a sore ankle, Jeremy Ross collected just a 13-yard reception versus Buffalo last week. The Lions offense and passing attack is not the same without a healthy Johnson, so you're probably better off looking elsewhere for your starting WR.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Jeremy Ross vs. Buffalo Bills
As Calvin Johnson was dealing with an ankle injury last Sunday against the Jets, Jeremy Ross stepped in and caught his first TD of the season – a 59-yarder that gave the Lions a lead they didn’t relinquish. Ross finished with only two catches and now has seven receptions on the season. If Johnson is hobbled again, Jeremy could be in line for a good game, especially versus a Buffalo team that has struggled to stop the pass. However, he makes for no more than a WR3 play.

DET WR Jeremy Ross - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Jeremy Ross will be the Lions No. 4 or 5 WR heading in to the season and his biggest impact will likely be as a returner. Splitting time between the Packers and Lions last season, he finished with six receptions for 67 yards and a score. He also combined to return 17 punts and 21 kickoffs, including taking one back 98 yards for a touchdown. Barring a significant injury, the Lions have just too many weapons at the WR spot for Ross to see much playing time.
