CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wildcard Weekend – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Arizona

Jerricho Cotchery had three catches for 25 yards against the Falcons to close the season, and the 11 year veteran finished the season with 580 yards and a touchdown. He’s unlikely to put up more than 40-50 yards in a game, which limits his fantasy upside, but if you need 4-5 fantasy points out of the spot, then Cotchery is a pretty safe to get you that in a PPR. Ultimately however, fantasy owners should look to a player with a lot more upside.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Atlanta
Jerricho Cotchery had five catches and 46 yards last week against the Browns. The Panthers passing game really can only sustain fantasy value for Kelvin Benjamin and Greg Olsen on a semi-consistent basis, giving Cotchery limited value. Cotchery may repeat his totals from last week, but if you’re looking for more than five or so points, then he’s not a guy to count on.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Cleveland

Jerricho Cotchery had five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown last week against the Bucs, as the Panthers knocked off their divisional opponent to stay alive in the woeful NFC South playoff race.

Cotchery faces a Browns defense this week that ranks seventh in the league against the pass, and Cotchery is a low-upside option in most weeks anyway, despite finding the end zone against the Bucs. Fantasy owners should have better options available than the veteran, and should look elsewhere for championship week.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Tampa Bay
Jerricho Cotchery had only one catch for nine yard last week against the Saints, and was only targeted twice. He’s being challenged by younger guys on the roster for targets, but overall he remains a savvy veteran route runner who the Panthers are glad to have on the roster. That just doesn’t translate into fantasy success, unfortunately. Expect more average numbers from the veteran against the Bucs, around four catches and 40-50 yards sound about right, with limited upside.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. New Orleans
Jerricho Cotchery had two catches for 20 yards and was targeted five times last week against the Vikings. He’s a reliable veteran who runs great routes, but the Panthers offense has struggled so badly this season that it’s hard to imagine Cotchery getting more than five fantasy points or so per week at best. That’s likely not going to cut it for fantasy owners, and he should be left on waivers.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Minnesota

Jerricho Cotchery had two catches for 43 yards against the Falcons two weeks ago and remains good for 4-6 points per week. That’s not enough to entice fantasy owners to add him in most leagues, but there’s something to be said for veteran consistency. Expect similar totals against the Vikings this week, with limited upside. He likely should stay on waivers in most leagues, or as a reserve in large leagues.

CAR WR Jerricho Cotchery - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Jerricho Cotchery vs. Atlanta
Jerricho Cotchery will continue to get targets week to week, as he had another seven passes thrown his way last week against the Eagles. However, he only caught two of those passes for 15 yards, and in any given game, his upside is very limited. Fantasy owners should look elsewhere for upside, and think of Cotchery as a desperation play that isn’t likely to net you zero points.
