SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 235 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Rams before the bye last week. In the two weeks he’s had with Christian McCaffrey in the offense, Garoppolo has had 538 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Against the Rams, he completed 84% of his passes, and he should have Deebo Samuel back this week.

This week, Garoppolo faces a Chargers defense that ranks 11th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. The Chargers have struggled to get pressure on the quarterback since losing Joey Bosa to injury. We have Garoppolo ranked as a QB1 option this week and he’s the top streaming option in our column this week. Start him.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Los Angeles Rams

Jimmy Garoppolo had a decent game against the Chiefs last week, despite the lopsided outcome. He finished with 303 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick in a losing effort. Garoppolo isn’t known for prolific passing, but he now has three straight games with multiple touchdown passes and in a season where quarterbacks are a bit shaky week-to-week, he’s been a surprisingly viable streamer.

This week, Garoppolo has a tough matchup against Aaron Donald and the Rams. The Los Angeles defense ranks sixth in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks, and held Garoppolo to 239 yards and a lone touchdown pass back in Week 4 – though that was admittedly impacted by game script, as the 49ers controlled the game throughout. Expect a boost from the addition of Christian McCaffrey for a full week of practice, and we have Garoppolo ranked right in quality streaming territory this week.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t get the win for the 49ers last week against the Falcons, but he did turn in a decent enough fantasy day for managers who streamed him. He threw a pair of interceptions, but also threw for two touchdowns and 296 yards. Garoppolo isn’t often a solid fantasy option, but he can be useful for streaming purposes in the right matchups.

This week, Garoppolo can once again be considered a viable option if you have Jalen Hurts or Josh Allen on bye. The Chiefs rank 29th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season and the 49ers may need to throw to keep up with the Kansas City offense. We have him ranked as a solid QB2 option this week.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Atlanta Falcons

Jimmy Garoppolo had an efficient 253 yards and two touchdown passes last week against the Panthers in a lopsided victory. He’s been steady since taking over for the injured Trey Lance, but he hasn’t put up big fantasy numbers, as has been the case throughout his career.

Garoppolo has some streaming value in a great matchup against an Atlanta defense that ranks 28th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks. If you need a bye week filler or have been struck by injuries, pick up Garoppolo for this week.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Carolina Panthers

Jimmy Garoppolo had an efficient 239 yards and a touchdown last week against the Rams. The 49ers led for most of the game and won handily, so there wasn’t much need for the team to throw the ball. Garoppolo has yet to throw more than 29 times in a game this year, a number the coaching staff would probably like to keep low as they try for another deep playoff run. That limits his fantasy upside.

This week, Garoppolo faces a Panthers defense that ranks 11th in aFPA to opposing quarterbacks this season. They just held Kyler Murray to modest passing numbers – 207/2/1 – last week, so expect an efficient victory from Garoppolo, without big fantasy stats. We have him ranked as a low-end QB2 option.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs. Los Angeles Rams

Jimmy Garoppolo struggled along with almost every other offensive player on the field last week against the Broncos, throwing for 211 yards, a touchdown, and a pick. Garoppolo has never really been a steady fantasy option, capping out at QB2-level value in most weeks. He had uneven performances against the Rams last year and with star LT Trent Williams likely out for some time, it’s going to be difficult for Garoppolo to produce against a tough defensive line. Sit him.

SF QB Jimmy Garoppolo - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Denver Broncos

Jimmy Garoppolo came in after Trey Lance was injured last week and had a pretty nice outing. He earned the victory, throwing for 154 yards and a touchdown, while adding a touchdown on the ground. Garoppolo has a good win-loss record for his career, but he’s not known as a steady fantasy producer.

This week, he’ll face a struggling Broncos team that has looked disappointing offensively so far this year, but has really only allowed nine points in the last six quarters defensively. Expect a conservative approach and quality QB2 numbers from Garoppolo.
