Week 14 vs. Denver Broncos
In the victory over New England last week, Jordan Akins finished with just a 19-yard reception – the fourth time this season he’s finished with a lone grab. On the year he has only 25 catches and both of his scores came back in September. There is no reason for him to be in your starting fantasy lineup, especially facing a good pass defense.

Week 13 vs. New England Patriots
Last Thursday versus the Colts Jordan Akins saw four looks from Deshaun Watson, leading to three receptions for 26 yards. It’s the fifth time this season he caught exactly three passes, but he’s totaled over 30 yards just twice. Akins is a TE2 play at home on Sunday versus the No. 2 overall New England defense.

Week 12 vs. Indianapolis Colts
Deshaun Watson passed for only 169 yards last Sunday in Baltimore, with Jordan Akins registering just a 15-yard grab. He has not caught more than three passes in any game this season, with just the one big performance back in Week 3. Indy’s defense limited him to only two receptions for 17 yards in October, so you’re better off looking elsewhere for your starting TE.

With Darren Fells continuing to be a vital part of the Houston passing attack, Jordan Akins’ fantasy value has taken a big hit. Fells totaled five TDs the previous five outings before the bye, with Akins recording just 11 receptions and no scores during that span. Akins should only be started if you’re out of other TE options.

Darren Fells has emerged as the top TE for the Texans, posting 174 yards and four scores over the past month. During that same timeframe, Jordan Akins registered just 88 yards and no TDs. Akins only two touchdowns in ’19 came back in Week 3. He should only be started if you’re out of other options.

It was the third time this season he snagged exactly three passes, but he’s been held out of the end zone in three straight contests. With Fells and Akins in the mix for the Texans, despite some recent success neither of them makes for a good starting fantasy TE.
