WR Jordy Nelson has firmly grabbed hold of the No. 3 receiver position. Since the beginning of the playoffs last year, he has caught more passes than anyone else on the team. He isn't the fastest guy, but he's fast enough and he benefits from the attention Greg Jennings gets from opposing offenses.

Nelson wins a lot of one-on-ones because he's big and athletic. He runs a lot of routes over the middle, so when he does go deep he sometimes gets defensive backs squatting on his route.

Fantasy Impact:

It sure feels like Nelson is more the Packers WR2 than WR3, but Donald Driver played almost twice as many snaps as Nelson against the Saints. Nelson had eight targets to Driver's seven, but if Driver consistently sees the field more, that may change. We love Nelson's skill set, but he's not an every week start...at least not yet.

Packers beat writer Tom Silverstein on the WR situation: "What in the world did James Jones do to be so buried on the depth chart? I might be a hypocrite for asking since I'm the one who wrote on this blog that the Packers didn't need to re-sign Jones because Jordy Nelson was going to emerge as a starter after his big post-season. Nelson was very good, hauling in six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown and deserved to stay on the field. He had eight passes targeted at him. Jones, meanwhile, had just one pass targeted and caught it for a 1-yard gain. It's possible Jones' knee wasn't back to full strength after missing all of the previous week with a bruised knee. But given the way Randall Cobb played (2 catches for 35 yards and a touchdown), I see Jones on the trading block fairly soon."

One week into his pro career, Green Bay wide receiver Randall Cobb has dazzled. The speed, the hands, the athleticism. The Packers' second-round pick has been a pay-per-view attraction from Day 1.

On a loaded receiving corps, Cobb could become an X-and-O nightmare, a wild card on a Super Bowl offense.

This week, Cobb lined up at all three receiver spots in practice. He caught several passes - some across the middle, some downfield. On one 20-yard comeback route, quarterback Aaron Rodgers gunned a pass to him as soon he turned.

New wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett tapped the brakes while detailing Cobb's potential impact. Still, the talents Bennett sees in Green Bay's current crop of receivers, he noticed instantly in Cobb.

Fantasy Impact:

As part of Green Bay's dynamic offense, Cobb is worth a look if he can find some playing time. Unfortunately, with Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, and James Jones all being relatively young players, Cobb may not have a major role until veteran Donald Driver fades away.

Jordy Nelson said he ruptured the bursa sac in his knee in the Super Bowl game but said that he gave the injury a full two months to heal and now it has.

“It’s been fine,” said Nelson. “It was just a matter of time for the body to absorb all the swelling. I ruptured my bursa sac, I pretty much just popped a bubble full of fluid and it swelled up really bad. It’s not preventing me from doing anything”

Taking off February and March, Nelson said he has been back to lifting weights, running and working out.
