Fantasy Upside
While he won't step into the Jimmy Graham role in Sean Payton's offense, Josh Hill will see his snaps rise dramatically this season. At 25 years old, he has more upside than Ben Watson, who has received the majority of first-team reps in camp. Even though he has fallen off the fantasy radar over the past month, Hill could still wind up being a viable starter at some point this season. We can't imagine Payton will ride with Watson all year, as Hill remains the more effective pass-catcher.
Fantasy Downside
Hill had a quiet camp, suffered an undisclosed injury in early August and has watched as Watson has taken plenty of the first-team reps. Nobody really knows what Hill's role will be in Payton's offense, which is transitioning more to a balanced attack with Graham and Kenny Stills in Seattle and Miami, respectively. Owners who decide to take a flier on Hill late in drafts could wind up burning a roster spot on a player in a limited role.
Bottom Line
Fantasy owners assumed Hill would be a top-10 TE with Graham gone, but he hasn't taken advantage of his opportunities this offseason. Now he's more-or-less a TE2 who isn't being drafted in 10-team leagues. Ranked as our TE16, keep an eye on how Payton utilizes his tight ends early in the year. Hill could still wind up being a decent streaming option at some point, but his stock has taken a massive hit this offseason.
