LAC WR Josh Palmer - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

It was a quiet start to the 2022 season for Josh Palmer, as he joined a host of his teammates in seeing four targets against the Raiders in Week 1. Palmer only caught three of his looks for a dismal five yards, giving him 2.4 fantasy points in Half PPR formats and a WR93 finish for the week.

Palmer has a chance to be much more productive in Week 2 when the Chargers take on the Chiefs without Keenan Allen. In what is likely to be a high-scoring affair, Palmer should see a healthy dose of targets to compensate for Allen's absence. But it will take a lot for him to creep into superstar territory this week, leaving as a possible WR3 option with touchdown upside.

LAC WR Josh Palmer - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Broncos

In Week 16, Josh Palmer saw six targets and reeled in five of them for 43 yards and a touchdown. It was the second time in three games Palmer has posted five catches and found the endzone. His deeds earned him 12.8 Half PPR points last week.

If Mike Williams is unable to play in Week 17, Palmer should continue to see an increased role alongside Keenan Allen at wide receiver. But expecting him to be a fantasy gem in Week 17 seems like a stretch, given the opponent. The Broncos ranked 5th in aFPA to wide receivers this season. If you need a mid-to-late tier WR3 this week, you might be interested in Palmer. But if you're after more, then you might be left wanting.

LAC WR Josh Palmer - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Giants

Josh Palmer could see his biggest workload to date in Week 14, with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams likely both missing the Giants clash. Palmer has just 15 receptions for 168 yards and a score this season, but he hasn't had more than 25 yards in a game so far.

The Giants ranked 14th in aFPA allowed to wide receivers and given their weaknesses towards opposition running backs the Chargers may well make Austin Ekeler the centerpiece of their attack on Sunday. Palmer can be trusted as no more than a very low-end WR3.
