Chargers coach Brandon Staley says Justin Herbert is feeling more comfortable, participated in some light throwing yesterday, and is day to day.

Fantasy Impact:

Herbert finished the game last Thursday but didn't look comfortable at times. The rest of the tweet said Herbert will be wearing a rib protector and Staley said he’ll go in individual drills today.

The X-Ray was taken immediately after the game, but the results have just come back Friday evening. Just Herbert will be day-to-day with an assessment to follow on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact:

Herbert had a gutsy performance Thursday night, operating through the final drive or two in obvious extreme pain. The team came up short, but in fantasy terms, the QB had a great game, finishing with 27.46 points on 300+ yards passing and three touchdowns. Journeyman quarterback Chase Daniel will be the next man up if Herbert is forced to miss time.

Josh Palmer is making a strong case to be the third wide receiver behind Keenan Allen and Mike Williams and make a big jump in Year 2. Palmer is shining in practices and building a solid rapport with Justin Herbert, creating separation with great routes and catching everything thrown in his direction. Palmer has has an all-rounded skill set to thrive as the Z receiver, with his impressive route running, reliability, and ball skills.

Fantasy Impact:

As the story said, the Chargers did not make any significant additions to their wide receiver room this offseason, and a big part of that was their belief in Palmer. The 2021 third-round pick did not start to see the field until the midway part of the season, but he flashed every time he was on. Palmer ended up catching 33 passes for 353 yards with four touchdowns in 2021. It may be tough for Palmer to earn targets with Allen and Williams in the lineup, however.
