Scouting report

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 18, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Wildcard Weekend – Kamar Aiken vs. Pittsburgh
Kamar Aiken had two catches for 13 yards last week against Cleveland, but he also scored a touchdown that helped Baltimore get the much needed victory that earned them a playoff berth. Aiken has shown up in the occasional game this season, finding the end zone twice in the last four games of the season, but he’s too inconsistent to bank on. Fantasy owners should view Aiken as too risky to use in a wildcard weekend that is packed with elite fantasy receivers.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 – Kamar Aiken vs. Cleveland
Kamar Aiken didn’t catch a pass last week and he’s still vying with Marlon Brown and Jacoby Jones for backup receiver targets. That doesn’t bode well for his fantasy value, and he should be left on waivers in all league formats.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 16, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 – Kamar Aiken vs. Houston
Kamar Aiken had a touchdown last week, but it was off a blocked punt, rather than in the passing game where fantasy owners are looking for it. Aiken is vying for the third or fourth spot on the depth chart each week and has no fantasy value on an inconsistent passing offense. He should remain on waivers.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 15, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 – Kamar Aiken vs. Jacksonville

Kamar Aiken had a nice game against the Dolphins filling in for Torrey Smith, who left the game with a sprained knee last week. He finished with six catches for 65 yards and a touchdown.

If Smith misses this weekend’s contest against the Jaguars and their 18th ranked pass defense, then Aiken could have some WR3 upside, but if Smith starts then Aiken will go back to being a waiver wire kind of fantasy option. Desperate owners can pick him up as a “just in case” option, but be sure to keep him out of your lineup if Smith is good to go as expected.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Kamar Aiken vs. Miami
Kamar Aiken had three catches for 51 yards against the Chargers last week, but there’s no reason to expect even that kind of production from him week-to-week. He’s vying for targets with Marlon Brown out of the slot position and is in no way a threat to the two Smiths for a starting role in the Ravens’ offense. Barring an injury, Aiken has very little fantasy value and should remain on waivers.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 13, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 – Kamar Aiken vs. San Diego
Kamar Aiken didn’t catch a pass last week but seems to be getting more snaps than rookie Michael Campanaro and should be considered the better option for fantasy owners. However, better than Michael Campanaro still doesn’t put Aiken into fantasy roster territory as only the fourth receiver on the Ravens depth chart. Leave him on waivers.

BAL WR Kamar Aiken - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Kamar Aiken vs. New Orleans
Kamar Aiken had one catch and 13 yards against the Titans in Week 10, and he’ll come back this week against a struggling Saints secondary that has been hit hard by injuries this season. Aiken is battling with Marlon Brown for snaps in sub packages, and while Aiken has more big play ability than Brown, he’s still a long shot to put up big numbers while battling for the WR3 spot. Fantasy owners should leave him on waivers for now.
