Scouting report

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Atlanta Falcons

Kenneth Walker continues to maintain a stranglehold on the Seahawks backfield, although Week 6 wasn’t his best week. He managed a respectable 16.9 Half-PPR points, but this was only good enough for RB13 in Week 6. Walker is still the RB4 in points per game in 2024.

Walker doesn’t have - on paper at least - a great matchup in Week 7. The Falcons have been stingy towards fantasy running backs, ranking fifth in aFPA for the position. But volume, and an increased passing workload, should enable Walker to overcome this, and he should still be treated like the high-end RB1 he has been this year.

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs San Francisco 49ers/strong>

Kenneth Walker has been a pleasantly surprising asset in fantasy this season, averaging a robust 20.2 Half PPR points per game, and is the RB4 in points per game. The Seahawks don't like running the ball, but Walker is paying off for his fantasy managers despite this.

Walker can be considered a safe RB1 option in Week 6 with a matchup against a 49ers defense who are not what they used to be when it comes to clamping down on fantasy running backs. Indeed, the 49ers rank 15th in aFPA to tailbacks this season. Walker is in a great spot to get your fantasy matchups off to a solid start this week.

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New York Giants/strong>

Kenneth Walker surprised a few people by not only playing against the Lions last week but also crushing them to the tune of 31.6 Half PPR points. Walker rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns while also catching four passes for 36 yards, all of which went towards his RB2 finish in Week 4.

Walker looks set for another RB1 outing in Week 5 with a clash against a middling Giants defense that ranks 15th in aFPA to running backs this season. There will be no time share in this backfield if Walker is healthy.

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at New England Patriots

Kenneth Walker got his 2024 season off to a good start in Week 1, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown on his 20 carries while adding another six yards on two receptions. Walker finished as the RB9 with 17.9 Half PPR points.

Walker's fantasy managers should expect another decent outing, despite a slightly daunting matchup against a Patriots side that allowed 55 yards on 12 rushing attempts against the Bengals. Walker should be in the low-end RB1 mix this week.

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Denver Broncos

Kenneth Walker has generated some serious offseason buzz, and he would seem to be in a lovely spot to start justifying that attention in Week 1. The Seahawks take on the Broncos who were not great against RBs last season. They ranked 21st in aFPA to running backs in 2023. Assuming he can dominate the backfield touches, Walker should be able to deliver mid-level RB1 numbers in the season's opening week.

SEA RB Kenneth Walker - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Kenneth Walker left plenty of meat on the bone in 2023, frustrating the Seahawks and fantasy managers alike. Walker rushed for 905 yards at 4.1 yards per attempt, a drop of 0.5 per carry from his rookie season, while rushing for eight touchdowns. He caught 29 passes for 259 yards and another score but could only post RB20 numbers in half-PPR points per game.

The Seahawks' offense has some serious buzz surrounding it this season, after the arrival of Ryan Grubb as offensive coordinator. Walker has shown himself to be capable of big plays on the ground during his NFL career but needs to improve his consistency if he is to remain the lead back and stave off the competition from Zach Charbonnet. He projects to be a low-end RB1 but could go higher or lower depending on several factors.

SEA QB Kenneth Walker - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

It was a pedestrian day for Kenneth Walker against the Titans, rushing 16 times for 54 yards and adding a two-yard catch. He gets a favorable matchup this week with the Steeelrs and is back in firm control of this backfield — Zach Charbonnet saw just two rushing attempts last week. That opportunity helps Walker check in as an RB2/Flex option for the fantasy finals.
