Kyle Juszczyk, pronounced Yous-Check and affectionately known as “Juice” to friends and teammates is a second year fullback out of Harvard. Primarily a blocker last year, Juice has been catching passes in the pre-season and has looked solid in new Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak’s new offense. The Ravens will hope to get more from him this year than they got from former fullback Vonta Leach, who was almost strictly a blocker.
Fantasy Upside
Juice might catch passes. If he does, at the rate that he has been during the pre-season, and at the rate that HBack type players have done in Kubiak’s scheme in the past, then he could become fantasy relevant, especially in large, PPR leagues.
Fantasy Downside
Unproven and at a position that does not traditionally equal big time fantasy numbers, Juice will struggle to put up numbers to be anything more than a spot starter and bye week filler in large PPR leagues. That’s the best case scenario for him, making him an unlikely fantasy star.
Bottom Line
Juice is an interesting prospect as a player for the Ravens, and an interesting possibility for deep PPR leagues if he takes on a more prominent role in the Baltimore offense than expected. However, even his upside is as a back of the roster type of fantasy player and he should not be drafted in fantasy leagues at this time.
