Scouting report

BAL RB Kyle Juszczyk - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Kyle Juszczyk vs. Atlanta
Kyle Juszczyk had a pair of receptions against the Bucs last week and ended up with 29 yards. He’s been an active part of the passing game, but this is about the most fantasy owners can expect from him on a week-to-week basis. He should remain on waivers.

BAL RB Kyle Juszczyk - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 – Kyle Juszczyk vs. Tampa Bay
Kyle Juszczyk didn’t have any touches last week against the Colts as he was used for blocking on most of his snaps. He remains a nice player for the Ravens to have on the field as a versatile blocker, but not a player with much fantasy value. He should be kept on waivers for the time being.

BAL RB Kyle Juszczyk - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 – Kyle Juszczyk vs. Indianapolis
Kyle Juszczyk caught a couple passes last week against the Panthers, but gained only eight yards. He’s shown a gutsiness in the passing game, which could lead to an expanded role for him in the future. However, he’s likely to remain primarily a blocker, and in a crowded Baltimore backfield, there’s no reason to add Juszczyk to your fantasy roster.

BAL RB Kyle Juszczyk - Week 4, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 – Kyle Juszczyk vs. Carolina
Kyle Juszczyk had three catches for 54 yards and a touchdown against the Browns last week. Expect to see the young fullback continue to get looks in the passing game, but he’s not likely to exceed the four targets he had on Sunday very often and his fantasy value is still limited in a crowded backfield where his primary role is as a blocker.

BAL RB Kyle Juszczyk - 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Kyle Juszczyk, pronounced Yous-Check and affectionately known as “Juice” to friends and teammates is a second year fullback out of Harvard. Primarily a blocker last year, Juice has been catching passes in the pre-season and has looked solid in new Offensive Coordinator Gary Kubiak’s new offense. The Ravens will hope to get more from him this year than they got from former fullback Vonta Leach, who was almost strictly a blocker.

Fantasy Upside
Juice might catch passes. If he does, at the rate that he has been during the pre-season, and at the rate that HBack type players have done in Kubiak’s scheme in the past, then he could become fantasy relevant, especially in large, PPR leagues.

Fantasy Downside
Unproven and at a position that does not traditionally equal big time fantasy numbers, Juice will struggle to put up numbers to be anything more than a spot starter and bye week filler in large PPR leagues. That’s the best case scenario for him, making him an unlikely fantasy star.

Bottom Line
Juice is an interesting prospect as a player for the Ravens, and an interesting possibility for deep PPR leagues if he takes on a more prominent role in the Baltimore offense than expected. However, even his upside is as a back of the roster type of fantasy player and he should not be drafted in fantasy leagues at this time.
