Scouting report

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Baltimore
Ladarius Green caught four balls for 45 yards and a TD last week with no Antonio Gates in the lineup. It's possible Gates isn't going to play again this week, which lofts Green into TE1 range. He comes in seventh this week at the position, even in what is a bad matchup as Baltimore is seventh in allowing fantasy points to the position. Green would lose some value if Gates suits up, so it's something to monitor leading up to Week 8. But with no Gates, and a bad matchup, Green still has a chance to produce fantasy numbers.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Oakland
Ladarius Green is losing out on some targets with the return of Antonio Gates, but did steal a TD last week. He finished with three catches for 35 yards and his third TD of the year on four targets. Green will likely continue to be part of the passing game, especially with Stevie Johnson out of the lineup. Green is a lower-end TE2 play in deeper leagues.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 6, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Green Bay
Even with the return of Antonio Gates, Ladarius Green was still involved in the offense. He played on more snaps, but his final numbers didn't really compare to what Gates put up. Green caught five balls for 50 yards on five targets, while Gates had a 9-91-2 line. Green owners shouldn't be shocked as the team used some two-TE sets with Stevie Johnson out of the lineup. Green should still remain involved, but even 5-50 lines might be tough to expect, depending on how the game plays out. Green is a lower-end TE2 option going forward.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs Pittsburgh
Ladarius Green caught four balls for 53 yards last week and added his second TD of the season. He was targeted six times. Green filled in nicely for Antonio Gates who returns this week from suspension. Gates should be a big hit to Green's fantasy value, especially in the red zone, where Gates is sure to be on the field and again Philip Rivers' top target. Green will be a risky play even with the chance the Bolts are shorthanded at WR with some injuries.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 4, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 vs Cleveland
Ladarius Green didn't play in Week 3 due to a concussion, so his status needs to be monitored for this week as well. Antonio Gates is also a week away from coming back, so Green's fantasy future going forward is a bit in question right now. He actually has a great matchup this week if he can play, as the Browns are just 23rd in allowing fantasy points to TEs. Green comes in ninth on our list.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Minnesota
Ladarius Green caught five balls on six targets in Week 2, finishing with 47 yards. For a position like TE that is often up and down in fantasy production, Green's numbers were at least OK. He's questionable this week as he suffered another concussion last week, but faces a tough matchup even if he does play. It's his second concussion in a year so the team will use caution. The Vikes are 10th in allowing fantasy points to TEs and are overall just stronger against the pass than the run. He's collected six targets each of the first two week, so there's no doubt the team is trying to get him involved. The bigger question is if he'll play or not.

SD TE Ladarius Green - Week 2, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Cincinnati
Ladarius Green owners weren't disappointed as the TE put up Antonio Gates-like numbers in Week 1 (five catches for 74 yards and a TD on six targets). Green has proved he's more than capable of this type of production. He just needed an opportunity. And, he will at least get three more weeks to show off his stuff as Gates serves the remainder of his suspension. Green comes in as a low-end TE1 this week in a decent matchup against the Bengals (who are 13th in fantasy points allowed to TEs). Green had a 2-45-1 game back in Week 13 of 2013 against the Bengals, so he's no stranger to success against Cincy.
