ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 14, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Kansas City
Larry Fitzgerald is set to possibly make a return from injury this week, but it’s a horrible matchup against the league’s top pass defense in passing yards allowed. Coming off an injury, sketchy to play or not, Fitzgerald is probably way too risky to have in your active lineup this week.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 12, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Seattle

Larry Fitzgerald had two catches and 33 yards last week against a tough Detroit Lions defense and he continues to be an inconsistent fantasy option, putting up big numbers one week and small ones the next.

This week, Fitzgerald will play against a Seattle defense that is allowing the third least passing yards per game on the season and has been stifling opposing receivers. Fitzgerald is a risky WR2/3 in most weeks, but fantasy owners may want to look elsewhere for this matchup, and considering that he's not even certain to play due to an injury. We have him just barely in the top 50 of our rankings this week. Even if he plays, I'd look elsewhere, but definitely watch the inactives list to make sure he's in the game.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 11, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Detroit

Larry Fitzgerald had nine catches for 112 yards against the Rams last week, but also lost his quarterback for the rest of the season as Carson Palmer suffered a ligament tear near the end of the game. Fitzgerald has had success with Drew Stanton though, so he should see similar fantasy value week to week, even without Palmer.

This week may not be the right week to trust Fitzgerald however. The Cardinals will face a surprisingly stingy Detroit defense that ranks third in the league in passing yards allowed per game, and is tied for first with only 10 passing touchdowns given up this season. Fitzgerald still has value as a low-end, high risk, WR3 option, but fantasy owners would be wise to look elsewhere if possible.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 10, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. St. Louis

Larry Fitzgerald has been much better in recent weeks since a slow start to the season, and he had five receptions on six targets for 70 yards in a win over the Cowboys last week. Fitzgerald has to be enjoying the past few weeks of consistency at the quarterback position, as Carson Palmer has found a groove since coming back from injury a few weeks back.

Fitzgerald faces an up-and-down Rams pass defense this week. The Rams were dominant against the 49ers last week, but up until that eight sack performance, they had struggled to put pressure on pass rushers all year. With Fitzgerald’s recent production, we have him projected to continue to get targets and put up low-end WR2 numbers.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 9, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Dallas

Larry Fitzgerald had a great game against the Eagles last week as the Cardinals extended their win total to six and the veteran hauled in seven passes for 160 yards and a touchdown. He even had an 80 yard reception, splitting the defenses and showing some spryness despite his advanced age.

This week, Fitzgerald faces a surprisingly effective Dallas pass defense, but the Cardinals should continue to throw the ball in Bruce Arians’ downfield attack, and Fitz should turn in quality numbers. He’s been inconsistent for much of this season, but Arizona should be airing it out and with all the bye weeks in play for Week 9, he’s not a bad WR2 option.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Philadelphia

Larry Fitzgerald was targeted five times last week against Oakland, and caught four of those passes, but he only wound up with 21 yards. Fitzgerald has really come down this season and is settling into the WR2 role in Arizona with the emergence of Michael Floyd.

This week Fitzgerald has a nice matchup against Philadelphia’s 23rd ranked pass defense, but he’s still a risky start due to his marginal numbers this season. He still has potential as a WR3 or borderline WR2, but that seems to be his best outlook on a weekly basis.

ARI WR Larry Fitzgerald - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 – Larry Fitzgerald vs. Oakland

Larry Fitzgerald was happy to see Carson Palmer come back last week against Washington, as he hauled in six passes for 98 yards and a touchdown in a Cardinals victory that gave Arizona sole possession of the NFC West lead six weeks into the season.

This week, Fitzgerald gets rewarded with a matchup against an Oakland Raiders defense that has looked terrible this season and gave up over 300 yards through the air to San Diego last week, not to mention making Ryan Tannehill look like Peyton Manning in Week 4 before the bye. Fitzgerald isn’t the elite option he once was, but he has low-end WR2 with upside given the matchup and the new found stability at the QB position.
