Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones (finger) was removed from the injury report Thursday. He has been placed on the reserve/COVID list and is also recovering from finger surgery. Bruce Arians confirmed that Leonard Fournette would start if Jones is out.

Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones (finger) did not practice Wednesday. He had finger surgery and was also placed on the reserve/COVID list so he looks doubtful for Sunday. Bruce Arians confirmed that Leonard Fournette would start if Jones is out.

Buccaneers Head Coach Bruce Arians confirmed that Leonard Fournette will start for Ronald Jones if Jones isn't activated from the COVID list for Sunday's game.

Fantasy Impact: 

The news isn't surprising, but it is good to hear confirmation that Fournette will get the starting nod from the team's head coach so early in the week. If Jones does end up sitting, Fournette should get a significant workload against the Falcons on Sunday. We have Fournette ranked as a mid-tier RB2 in the event he gets the start against Atlanta.

RB Ronald Jones is scheduled today to have a surgical procedure to have a pin placed in his broken pinky finger.

Fantasy Impact: 

His status is uncertain for Week 15 at this point, but owners should probably be prepared to be without him. Last week, Fournette was a healthy scratch as McCoy moved up to be the RB2. We reported Monday from the The Athletic that McCoy could very well earn and keep the RB2 job, but with Jones possibly out, it could be more of a split between McCoy and Fournette in Week 15. Owners should continue to monitor heading into Week 15 but McCoy is worth a pickup since he's likely on your waiver wire.
