Fantasy Upside
Marcus Wheaton will be the Steelers’ No. 2 receiver this season opposite Antonio Brown. That should provide for plenty of one-on-one matchups. Emmanuel Sanders got 112 targets in the same role in 2013.
Fantasy Downside
Wheaton is unproven after having just six receptions for 64 yards in an injury-plagued 2013 season. There’s a chance that Heath Miller and/or Lance Moore split the receptions with Wheaton, cutting into his production.
Bottom Line
If Wheaton gets the 100-plus targets Sanders received in 2013, he’ll have 60-plus catches. For a player who is currently being taken in the 12th to 14th rounds, that’s pretty good. The potential is there for 70-plus catches and 900-plus yards if things go right.
