DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs. Green Bay Packers
With Matthew Stafford throwing for over 400 yards in the comeback win at Chicago last week, Marvin Jones led the Lions with eight receptions for 116 yards and a TD. As Kenny Golladay continues to nurse a sore hip, Jones has been targeted an average of 10 times over the past four contests and registered his first 100-yard outing of the season against the Bears. Jones caught four passes for 23 yards and a score in the Week 2 loss to the Packers.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at Chicago Bears
Even without Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola in the lineup on Thanksgiving, Marvin Jones finished with only 48 yards. It wasn’t for a lack of effort from Jones and Matthew Stafford, as the veteran was targeted a season-high 12 times, resulting in team-leading six receptions. Jones hasn’t registered a 100-yard game in ’20 and caught four passes for 55 yards in the opening week loss to the Bears.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs. Houston Texans
Without fellow WRs Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola last week at Carolina, Marvin Jones was still held to just 51 yards on four receptions. Matthew Stafford threw for a season-low 178 yards in the shutout loss, as the Lions offense was putrid all game. With the short week, the passing attack will likely feature Jones again and he has a good matchup versus a Texans pass defense that has struggled.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 at Carolina Panthers
With Kenny Golladay out again last week versus Washington, Marvin Jones led Detroit in targets (10), receptions (eight) and yards (96) and scored his fifth TD of the season – four of those have come in the past three contests. All of those stats were season highs for Jones who has become a big part of the Lions aerial game in November with the team’s top receiver nursing a hip injury. The Panthers have a below-average pass defense so Jones should be used as a WR2 start, especially if Golladay is unable to play.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Washington
With Kenny Golladay out with a hip injury at Minnesota last week, Marvin Jones caught three passes for 43 yards and a TD. It was his fourth score of the season and third in the past two games. Even if Golladay is out again, Jones is a tough start as he’s only averaging three grabs for less than 40 yards on the season. Despite the recent trips to the end zone, against the league’s top pass defense on Sunday, he’s no more than a WR3/flex option.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Minnesota Vikings
With Matthew Stafford throwing for over 300 yards versus the Colts last week, Marvin Jones finished with only 39 yards, but two of his three grabs went for TDs – bringing his season total to three. Marvin Hall stepped up with a long reception after Kenny Golladay left in the second half with an injury, as Stafford spread the ball around to eight different pass catchers. Without Golladay Jones should receive an increase in looks and has a good matchup against a suspect Vikings pass defense.

DET WR Marvin Jones - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Indianapolis Colts
In the improbable win at Atlanta last week, Marvin Jones had his best game of the year, corralling five balls for 80 yards on six targets. Although he hasn’t found paydirt since Week 2, the reception and yardage totals were season highs. Jones is a risky fantasy start due to his inconsistent outings, especially versus the No. 2 Indy defense.
