Good news for Jaguars fans on this Maurice Jones-Drew quote: "There's no pain in my foot. I'm cutting great, no swelling. It's like back to normal again."

Fantasy Impact: 

MJD's 2012 season was cut short with a Lisfranc foot injury, but if all goes well this season, he'll have a good chance at cracking the top 10 in 2013. In the three previous seasons, he finished top 5 in PPG, so the talent and production are there, even in the Jaguars' lackluster offense. It looks like all systems go for MJD.

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew completed his first workout with the team since a season-ending foot injury in October. He competed without setbacks, without pain and without apprehension -- all positive signs for the three-time Pro Bowler and for the rebuilding Jaguars.

"It just feels comfortable making those cuts and knowing there's no pain in the foot, ankle, whatever," Jones-Drew said. "Not running for eight months, it's like, 'Can I still do it?' But I've been playing football for 20 years and it's just natural."

The bigger test will be seeing how his left foot feels after a couple days, maybe even a few weeks.

"The main thing for me is just getting back to where I can carry the ball 20 or 25 times a game," he added. "Obviously, right now, I feel like I can do it. But it's different when you're getting the ball play after play after play."

Fantasy Impact: 

From 2009-2011, Jones-Drew finished top 5 in PPG. However, the Jaguars have serious problems at QB and are planning to install a zone blocking scheme, which may affect his productivity. He's an interesting pick in the early 3rd round of 12-team drafts.

Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew has been cleared by training staff, but says team will be smart with his return.

Fantasy Impact: 

This is a good sign that the bothersome foot injury may be behind him, though he still has to deal with a new running scheme -- the team is moving to a zone-blocking attack -- which was a bad move for the Raiders in 2012. He's a high-upside pick in the 3rd round, but his ADP will move into the 2nd if he proves he's healthy.

Chief on the Jaguars training camp to-do list is getting RB Maurice Jones-Drew up to speed, two years removed from winning the league’s rushing title but less than eight months post-surgery.

Jones-Drew was present for a portion of the offseason workouts, but has yet to practice.

HC Gus Bradley hasn't finalized a preseason plan for Jones-Drew, but don’t expect him to get much work.

Fantasy Impact: 

Jones-Drew currently ranked 16th on our RB list with an ADP of the early third round. That could be a bargain with the potential for him to finish in the top-ten when all is said and done. Justin Forsett and rookie "offensive weapon" Denard Robinson provide nice depth behind MJD. QB Blaine Gabbert will continue to keep MJD's value in check unless there is improvement in the passing game.
