Michael Pittman downgraded to out for Week 16

Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman was downgraded to out for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.

Fantasy Impact: 

Pittman is dealing with a concussion and a shoulder injury, essentially whiplash as Rapoport notes after the hit he took from Steelers safety Damontae Kazee, a hit that resulted in a suspension for the remainder of the season. Adam Schefter reports Pittman picked up symptoms after traveling with the team that led him to be placed back in concussion protocol. Josh Downs now stands to benefit as the top option for Gardner Minshew in a key game for the Colts. Alec Pierce could also see an uptick in opportunities as well.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (thumb) and WR Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) are practicing for the second straight day. Pittman is not in a red jersey, meaning again that he’s been cleared for full contact in practice.

Fantasy Impact: 

Good sign that Pittman will be hitting the field this weekend, which makes him a WR2/3 play in Week 16. This also raises the floor for managers looking towards Gardner Minshew as a QB streamer.

Fantasy Impact: 

Still early in the week to project exact usage for the Colts skill position players with so much still up in the air, but we'll keep an eye on it. If Pittman does go, he is in a decent spot against the Falcons, and would boost Gardner Minshew into streaming consideration.
