Mike Evans is coming off a 79-1255-13 season, which was good enough for a fantasy WR4 finish. It was his best season since 2018 (86-1524-8), so clearly he and Baker Mayfield had a nice rapport in Mayfield's first season. Now entering his 11th season, his production should be falling off, but given his outstanding 2023 season, we can continue to expect WR1/WR2 numbers from Evans.

Jalen McMillan lined up out wide on 7 of his 10 snaps on Sunday — good news for his potential to start early in three-WR sets.

Fantasy Impact:

With Evans on the outside and Godwin expected to be back in a full-time slot role this season, it leaves the other outside position up for grabs. Palmer flashed at times last season in the WR3 role, but, McMillan was drafted this past spring and looks to have a serious shot at taking that outside role, which would give him a boost in value heading into drafts.

TB WR Mike Evans - 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Ten seasons, 10 1,000-yard campaigns for Mike Evans, who will be in Canton someday. Evans was WR4 in fantasy last season after a 79-1255-13 season as the Buccaneers won their third straight NFC South crown. 2023 was also his third-most receiving yards and second-highest touchdown total of his career. Not bad for a guy entering Year 11. Evans and Baker Mayfield built a nice connection that will continue to grow with Mayfield back in Tampa.

Fantasy Downside

Normally, you would say having Chris Godwin around could take targets away, but Evans was targeted 136 times. You're almost nitpicking at this point, even with saying he's 31 years old.

2024 Bottom Line

Evans is still a prolific receiver and will be, at worst, a high-end WR2 that easily has WR1 upside. An 11th straight 1,000-yard season is easily on the table for Evans.
