Scouting report

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. New York Giants
Miles Sanders has been a force for the Eagles the last two games. He has rushed for 251 yards over that time period. However, he has not scored a touchdown this season which seems strange with all the touches he has had in 2021.

Sanders faces the Giants for the second time this season. New York is ranked 22nd in aFPA to running backs. In the first meeting, Sanders had 9 carries for 64 yards. One thing to keep an eye on is his health. He has a bad quad and although he should play, make sure his active.

Start Sanders as a flex or RB3 for Week 16. We expect Jordan Howard to share some of the load as Sanders isn't 100%.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 vs. Washington
Miles Sanders is coming off his best game of the season before the bye week that saw him get 27 touches, a season-high, for 142 yards, also a season-high. The only negative was he didn't get into the end zone. Keep an eye on Sander's ankle as it has been an issue that he has played through. He did practice Thursday so he should play Sunday.

Sanders faces the WFT who is ranked third in aFPA to running backs. Normally, this would be a tough matchup against a very good Washington defense, but it could be affected by COVID-19 absences.

Start Sanders but don't have lofty expectations with this matchup. He ranks a high-end RB3 or flex for Week 15. If he gets the touches he did against the Jets, the ceiling is much higher.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New York Jets
Miles Sanders had 64 rushing yards last week but only on nine carries as he has been hobbled by a bad ankle. If he can play through it, he could have a good week as his backups Boston Scott and Jordan Howards are banged up. Sanders has been good when he is on the field with the exception of touchdowns. He has zero this season.

Sanders faces the Jets who are ranked dead last in the NFL in aFPA to running backs. If he gets the touches, he should have a good week, but that is still up in the air.

Because of the injury, Sanders ranks a low-end RB2 for Week 13.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at New York Giants

Miles Sanders returned after missing a month and jumped right on the Eagles' effective running game. He had 16 carries for 94 yards. He did not score a touchdown and did lose a fumble, but it was good for owners to see him get 16 touches. Sanders should remain the primary back and it will be a bonus if they get him involved in the passing game. He had zero targets last Sunday.

Sanders faces the Giants who are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs. We expect the Eagles to continue with the run-first philosophy and Sanders should be the main player after QB Jalen Hurts.

Start Sanders as a low-end RB2 for Week 12. The matchup is a good one and the usage was very positive for Sanders in his return to the lineup.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Las Vegas
Miles Sanders only had 11 touches last week, down from the week before. Blame some of that on the Eagles' inefficiency on offense as they were taken away from their game plan early. Still, Sanders has not had very good fantasy numbers considering he is the Eagles' No. 1 back.

The matchup is favorable on Sunday as Philly visits Las Vegas. The Raiders are ranked 27th in aFPA to running backs so this might be the game Sanders gets on track.

Start Sanders as a solid RB2 for Week 7. This is where we expected him to be most of the season even when people were drafting him as an RB1.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Tampa Bay
Miles Sanders had 16 touches which is the highest total since Week 1. It produced 51 total yards and zero touchdowns. Sanders also played a season-high 75% of the snaps but his fantasy numbers didn't reflect that. Former coach Doug Pederson's offense focused on the running backs and tight ends, but it seems the receivers and quarterback have more value than before.

The Buccaneers come to Philly on Thursday night. Sanders faces a run defense that has been decent ranked 7th in aFPA to running backs.

The numbers haven't been there for Sanders in 2021 so far. He still has value because of the touches, but he only ranks an RB3 or flex for Week 6.

PHI RB Miles Sanders - Week 5 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Carolina
Miles Sanders stock is dropping and if you thought he was going to be an RB1, you weren't paying attention to the preseason previews on this site. He has a total of 9 carries over the last two games, but don't expect the numbers to stay that low. He still is involved in the passing game and that helps in PPR leagues.

Sanders faces the Panthers who are ranked 2nd in aFPA to running backs. This is not a great matchup for Sanders to get back on track and if he is your best back, you better look elsewhere for some help.

Sanders only rates a low-end RB3 or Flex for Week 5. Recent stats and tough defense should limit him fantasy-wise.
