Scouting report

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 at New York Jets

Nelson Agholor caught five of six passes thrown his way last week against the Falcons, finishing with 54 yards. He’s actually had 15 targets over his past two games after eclipsing five targets just once in previous games this season.
Even against a Jets defense that ranks 25th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, Agholor is a risky bet. However, his targets are up and he seems like the closest thing to consistency the Raiders have at wide receiver. He also has six touchdowns, giving him some upside. We have him ranked as a low-end WR3 option in a nice matchup this week.

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Atlanta Falcons

Nelson Agholor had a nice game last week, catching six of the nine balls thrown his way for 88 yards and a touchdown. Agholor has been inconsistent this year, but has put up points in bunches. He has a touchdown in six of 10 games, but he has single-digit PPR points in each of the other four games, including a goose egg against the Browns in Week 8.

This might be a good week to gamble on Agholor as a boom-or-bust WR3 option. He faces a Falcons defense that ranks 29th in aFPA to opposing wide receiver, better than only the Cowboys, Bengals, and Seahawks. Expect the Raiders to find great success throwing the ball, and for Agholor to have a nice shot at finding the end zone once again.

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Nelson Agholor had one catch on four targets for eight yards last week against the Broncos. The Raiders’ receivers all have the potential to make big plays from time to time, but it’s risky to try and guess which ones will do it in any given week. He had two catches for 67 yards and a touchdown the last time he faced the Chiefs, who rank fifth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. However, it’s a lot to expect him to find the end zone again, and he should stay on the bench in most league formats.

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Denver Broncos

Nelson Agholor had two catches for 55 yards and a touchdown last week against the Chargers. While it’s great that he has a touchdown in five of eight games this season, his inconsistent targets make him a risky fantasy option in any given week. He’s averaging just 3.2 targets per game, and has only one game with more than five targets all season.

This week, Agholor faces a Broncos defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing wide receivers. There is upside if you’re desperate, considering his success at finding the end zone, but in most leagues, there should be a more reliable option available.

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Los Angeles Chargers

Nelson Agholor followed up a nice game against the Buccaneers with a goose egg against the Browns. He was targeted twice last week and didn’t catch a single pass as the Raiders won a low-scoring affair to advance to 4-3 on the season. Much of last week could’ve been the difficult wind conditions, but Agholor hasn’t exactly been known for consistency throughout his career. Plus, the Chargers rank ninth in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, making this a tough matchup.

LV WR Nelson Agholor - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cleveland Browns

Nelson Agholor had five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers last week. It was his third straight game with a touchdown, and his fourth score of the season. Agholor had nine targets last week, but is averaging just 3.3 targets per game over the course of the season, including just six in his previous two games. He’s an interesting addition to the back end of rosters, but it’s risky to expect this production to continue after years of inconsistent production from the veteran out of USC.

This week, he’ll face a Browns defense that ranks 31st in aFPA to opposing wide receivers, so there’s upside for him to repeat his success. However, it’s hard to bank on him after so much inconsistency in the past, and fantasy owners should be cautious. He’s a low-end WR3 in deep leagues, at best.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 14 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 14 vs New York Giants
Nelson Agholor returned after missing one game with an injury and caught three passes for 41 yards. In the last four games he has played, he has had either 3 or 4 catches so he has been consistent.

Agholor faces New York who is 23rd in aFPA to wide receivers. Expect Agholor to put up those three or four catches again this week, and that's not enough to put him in the starting lineup.
