Scouting report

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Los Angeles Chargers

Nelson Agholor had an improvised long touchdown Week 1, and that's it. Back-to-back weeks with less than 30 yards proves he's not a candidate for your fantasy lineup, including in Week 4.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. New York Giants

We warned you last week that Agholor's Week 1 stat line was pumped up by a fluky, improvised, long touchdown. He came right back down to Earth in Week 2 with just three targets. This is not a player you can rely on week-to-week and have confidence starting.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at Kansas City Chiefs

Nelson Agholor cashed in on a broken play last week for a long touchdown. Take that play away and Agholor had 5 receptions for just 28 yards. He is the slot man now in this offense, which should lead to targets (8 in Week 1); however, how valuable will those targets be? We can't rely on broken plays for fantasy points week-to-week. Therefore, Agholor is a name you should fade against the Chiefs (14th in aFPA vs. PPR WRs).

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Washington

The Eagles traded Jordan Matthews, clearing slot WR duties for Nelson Agholor; however, he'll likely need to score a TD to have any fantasy relevance whatsoever in Week 1. Agholor had trouble separating from coverage last season and also had some bad drops. He should not be in your lineups.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - 2017 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside

Nelson Agholor moves to the slot this season, after a strong training camp and the Eagles trading Jordan Matthews to Buffalo. The former first-round pick out of USC will compete for targets behind Alshon Jeffery, Torrey Smith, and Zach Ertz.

Fantasy Downside

Did we mention the names above? Agholor also had four drops last season and consistently failed to create separation from coverage.

2017 Bottom Line

Agholor is not a factor in fantasy drafts, as you should do nothing more than take a wait-and-see approach with him after the Eagles added two new receivers to the mix.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 5, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. New Orleans
Nelson Agholor busted out a little bit, catching three balls for 64 yards last week. He continues to play a lot, averaging 86-percent of the snaps this year, which included a season high 96-percent last year. He's only getting targeted four times a game and averages less than two catches a game, though. It could be a sign Agholor is about to be more of a factor in the offense. While he's ranked as a WR4, he's certainly not all that safe for lineups even in deeper leagues, but may be worth picking up if he's on your wire and you're looking for some help at the position in the near future.

PHI WR Nelson Agholor - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 at Detroit
Nelson Agholor again saw a lot of snaps, playing 76-percent in Week 2 after seeing 80-percent in Week 1. Unfortunately, he caught just three balls for 31 yards in Week 2. He was targeted six times, so at least Sam Bradford is starting to look his way. This is a tough matchup this week and Agholor very well could see Darrelle Revis in this one, making him a very risky start on top of all the troubles this offense is having.
