HOU K Nick Novak - Week 8, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tennessee
Even when the Texans were able to punch it into the end zone last week at Miami, Nick Novak missed the extra point. At least Houston was able to score a few more times, with Nick converting two-of-three extra points in the loss. Now Arian Foster is gone for the year, the offense will have to find its identity, so there are likely better choices to go with for your kicker.

HOU K Nick Novak - Week 7, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Miami
At Jacksonville last week, Nick Novak kicked a 41-yard field goal and four extra points. Since joining the Texans, Novak is three-for-four on FG attempts and is averaging six points per game. Houston’s offense has put up a lot of yards the past few weeks, and Novak should continue to see scoring chances against a Miami team that gives up a lot of yards.

Week 6 at Jacksonville
The Texans continue to play from behind, but Nick Novak did receive two FG opportunities against the Colts last Thursday. Novak was true from 36 and 49 yards and totaled eight points in the loss. With Brian Hoyer back as the team’s QB and Arian Foster running the ball, Novak is a middle-of-the-pack kicker.

Week 5 vs. Indianapolis
Kicking in his first game as a Texan, Nick Novak missed his only field goal attempt, from 53 yards out. He did make all three extra points, which is good news since the kicker he replaced, Randy Bullock, missed two extra points during his first three contests. Houston often finds itself playing from behind, which doesn’t lead to many FG opportunities.

SD K Nick Novak - Week 17, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 - Novak vs. Kansas City

Nick Novak booted a field goal while adding five extra points last week as the Bolts battled back to knock off the 49ers. It wasn't a great matchup but Novak turned in a decent fantasy kicking performance. This week's matchup proves to be a little friendlier as the Chiefs are in the bottom half of the league in terms of allowing points to kickers. Novak was coming off a 1-for-3 performance from Week 15 so he did bounce back a little and should be a decent option in Week 17 in what is a meaningful game for both teams.

Week 16 - Novak vs. San Francisco
Nick Novak had a bad game in Week 15, going just 1-for-3 in field goals as the Bolts fell to Denver in a key division contest. Novak had just one miss coming into last week's game and is now 21-for-24 this season. This week's matchup is a tough one as the 49ers are 11th in allowing fantasy points to kickers. On top of that, the Chargers look like they'll be without Keenan Allen and Ryan Mathews, so it may be tough for them to move the ball this week. Novak is way down our kicker list and it's best to go with another option.

Week 15 - Novak vs. Denver
It wasn't a great fantasy day for Nick Novak owners as he kicked just two extra points last week. Ironically, it was the first time he was held without a field goal since Week 8 - a game against the Broncos. Such is the case for a lot of kickers as teams generally need TDs going against Denver. As a result, Novak is way down our list so it's best to go another direction.
