Scouting report

SEA TE Noah Fant - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 vs. Arizona Cardinals

Noah Fant did see five targets last week against the Saints, but still only produced 49 yards on three catches. As long as he's sharing the work with Will Dissly in this offense, neither Seahawks tight end is worth starting, unless you're in a deep league or a 2TE league. Even then, it's a hard sell.

SEA TE Noah Fant - Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 4 at Detroit Lions

Noah Fant put up his best numbers of the season in Week 3 against the Falcons, catching four passes. But they only went for 27 yards and Will Dissly had the touchdown. Fant and Dissly are pretty low on the totem pole so it's hard to trust either in fantasy at the moment. You can find better options.

SEA TE Noah Fant - Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 2 at San Francisco 49ers

Seattle continues to show they really don't use the tight end much. In his first game with the Seahawks after being part of the Russell Wilson package, Noah Fant saw four targets and caught three passes for only 16 yards. Yes, Seattle did have a touchdown by a tight end, Will Dissly, but Dissly had nothing but green surrounding him and was able to walk into the end zone. There's just not much here to work with, as the offense is already a bit limited and DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are still ahead of Fant in the pecking order. Keep Fant on the bench this week against the strong defense of the 49ers.

SEA TE Noah Fant - Week 1 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Denver Broncos

Russell Wilson isn't the only player facing his former team on Monday night. Noah Fant was part of the package that went back to Seattle in exchange for Wilson. But Seattle just doesn't like using tight ends all that much and the team still has a thing for Will Dissly. Until we see something from Fant, consider him a very low-end TE2. Too tough to trust at the start of the season.

SEA TE Noah Fant - 2022 Fantasy Football Outlook

2022 Fantasy Upside
Noah Fant was the big addition, along with the high draft picks, in the trade compensation for sending Russell Wilson to the Broncos. Fant immediately goes to the top of the depth chart for the Seahawks, who moved on from Gerald Everett, now with the Chargers. Seattle definitely seems to have high hopes for Fant, especially after Pete Carroll praised him after the team’s minicamp.

2022 Fantasy Downside
Fant has been a borderline fantasy TE1 in his career and now comes to a Seattle team that doesn’t throw to the tight end all that much, is more of a running team, and still has DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett on the outside. Of course, the quarterback situation isn’t all that great either, though he has the prior connection with Drew Lock.

2022 Bottom Line
You wonder if Fant secretly wants Lock to win the quarterback job over Geno Smith, because then he’ll know the quarterback throwing him the ball versus building a new connection with Smith. With Seattle’s style of play, Fant is likely no more than a TE2 unless Seattle shows more of a willingness to involve the tight end (Everett had 48-478-4 last season in Seattle).

DEN TE Noah Fant - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Chargers

If you're still reading this, I appreciate you for a great season and it most likely means you're in the championship, so congrats to you on making it this far.

Noah Fant was another victim of last week's passing woes for the Denver Broncos offense, but he hasn't done himself any favors with zero touchdowns since Week 6 and he hasn't had more than six targets in a game since Week 7. Fant gets by with such a weak positional group in tight ends. If you're playing Fant, you're chasing the matchup, which the Chargers give up the fifth-most fantasy points to tight ends and you're praying he catches a touchdown to save his day, which the Chargers have given up the third-most touchdowns to tight ends since Week 12.

DEN TE Noah Fant - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Raiders

Noah Fant is a beneficiary of such a barren tight end landscape. On the bright side, he's gained the most yards (212) out of any Denver Bronco pass catcher in the past five games while running 115 routes and earning the second-most targets on the Broncos. This week he's a top 12 play but that's not saying much since he's only projected for 38 receiving yards.
