LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 13 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs. Cleveland Browns

The Chargers are surging with 82 points in their last two games, and now they get a revenge game against the lowly Browns, as the Chargers were the only team Cleveland beat last year. The Chargers have the highest implied team total of the week at 28.75 points. The Browns are ranked just 28th in aFPA versus QBs this season. Rivers is averaging more than 22 points in two games against Cleveland over the past two seasons. He's a top-five play this week.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 12 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 at Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys present a plus matchup for Philip Rivers on Thanksgiving, as Dallas is just 17th in overall fantasy points allowed to the position and 19th in aFPA against quarterbacks. Dallas has also allowed two passing touchdowns in three consecutive weeks. This game is also tied for the third-highest over/under in Vegas for Week 12. Consider Rivers a decent option as a high-end QB2 with QB1 upside.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 11 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 11 vs. Buffalo Bills

Philip Rivers has been below-average for more than a month now, averaging just 13.9 fantasy points in his last four games. He faces a Buffalo team that has been gashed recently on the ground, meaning this could be more of a Melvin Gordon game for the Chargers. Plus, Buffalo is top-10 in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. In 1-QB leagues, it's best to bench Rivers this week.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 at Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars have been a pit of fantasy despair for opposing quarterbacks, allowing a league-best 6.7 fantasy points per game to the position, with only one quarterback all season even reaching 13 points. Yeah...don't start Philip Rivers this week.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at New England Patriots

Philip Rivers gets what had been a good matchup for every offense the Patriots faced until the Falcons came to town last week. Nevertheless, New England is still ranked a lowly 30th in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. Rivers is averaging just under 16 fantasy points per game; meanwhile, the Patriots offense is allowing 23.2 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks—dead last in the league. As bad as Matt Ryan was last week, he still managed 17 fantasy points. Rivers is a low-end QB1/high-end QB2. You can do worse on a heavy bye week.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Denver Broncos

Philip Rivers has averaged just 14.28 points in his last four games against the Broncos, outside QB1 production in 12-team leagues. He did put up 17 points in Week 1 against the Broncos, but with Denver top-10 in our aFPA vs. QB rankings, Rivers is not a good consideration for 1QB leagues in Week 7.

LAC QB Philip Rivers - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Oakland Raiders

It is unclear whether this game will be played in Oakland or Santa Clara, due to concerns about air quality with the wildfires, but either way it's a road game for Philip Rivers against a Raiders defense that is only 26th in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. Rivers is coming off back-to-back 20-point fantasy performances, and Oakland allowed 18+ to quarterbacks not named Josh McCown, Trevor Siemian, and Joe Flacco. Plus, in two of his last four games against Oakland, Rivers threw for 300+ and 3+ touchdowns. He's on the QB1 radar for Week 6.
