Steelers have suspended Rashard Mendenhall for one game, activated Baron Batch from practice squad.

Fantasy Impact:

Mendenhall had been deactivated for the last two games and a source is saying Mendenhall's suspension was because he failed to show up to the game last week. Mendenhall will be a free agent in 2013. Needless to say, he's dropable if you were still holding out hope.

Steeler coach offered this about his RB situation:

“We don’t intend on doing anything differently in terms of Jonathan (Dwyer) being the guy and of course, (Isaac Redman) supplementing him because Red is capable of distinguishing himself in situational football, short yardage,” said Tomlin. “He’s a good blitz-pickup guy."

Fantasy Impact:

Tomlin said Rashard Mendenhall would get a chance again, at some point, but it doesn't look like it's happening this week. Dwyer is the only back worth fantasy consideration the way things stand right now.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin: "RB Rashard Mendenhall will get an opportunity to redeem himself at some point . . . not now.''

Fantasy Impact:

Jonathan Dwyer was named the starter this week with Isaac Redman backing him up. Last week, Mendenhall was inactive, and that could very well be the case this week against the Chargers.
