Raiders sign WR Michael Crabtree

WR Michael Crabtree announced on Twitter that he has signed with the Raiders.

Fantasy Impact: 

Crabtree hasn't been himself since his Achilles injury, but there is opportunity in the Raider receiving corps. The problem is -- he's not markedly better than James Jones, Andre Holmes or Rod Streater, so Crabtree could end up anywhere from first to fourth in the pecking order by the time preseason rolls around.

Raiders wide receiver Rod Streater, out with a foot fracture since Week 3, was back on the practice field. Streater led the Raiders in receiving with 60 receptions for 888 yards in 2013 and had nine catches for 84 yards at the time of his injury in a 16-9 loss to New England.

"I think I'm close," Streater said. "I went through pretty much the whole practice without any pain. Cutting, running full speed, catching it.''

"It looked like he ran around pretty good," Raiders coach Tony Sparano said. "I know he was pretty excited to get back out there, so we'll see. We've got to be patient, but he looked good doing what he was doing.''

Fantasy Impact: 

Placed on the designated for return injured reserve list on Oct. 2, the Raiders must either put Streater on the 53-man roster within 21 days or place him on injured reserve, which would end his season.

The Oakland Raiders have been sorely lacking a playmaker on offense most of the season, so it was welcomed news to see wide receiver Rod Streater working out with a trainer while the rest of the team practiced Friday.

He was placed on the injured reserve list Oct. 2 with a designation to return and subsequently underwent foot surgery.

Streater became eligible to return to practice Thursday but the team opted not to make the move just yet. Streater isn't eligible to come out of injured reserve list and play until Nov. 27 -- three days before the Raiders play in St. Louis.

Raiders claim WR Kenbrell Thompkins

Former Patriots receiver Kenbrell Thompkins was claimed off waivers by the Raiders, per NFL Network. He had six catches for 53 yards this season for the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact: 

Seems like a good fit for the Raiders who are struggling for playmakers on offense and at WR. Rod Streater is out for the next few weeks so Thompkins has a chance to jump right in this Raiders offense.
