Ronald Jones has been ruled out of Sunday's game at Cincinnati due to a hamstring injury, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Fantasy Impact: 

Jones was trending up, of course, and had been incorporated into the Buccaneers offense the past four games, acting as a change-of-pace option to starter Peyton Barber. After earning 22 touches in the first three, Jones turned three touches into one yard before departing this contest.

Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber (ankle) returned to limited practice reps Thursday after missing Wednesday practice. With Barber out on Wednesday, Ronald Jones saw most of the reps with the first team. He’d likely step into a large workload if Barber can’t play against the Bengals. Barber’s return to practice indicates that he’ll be able to play.

Coach Dirk Koetter said with Peyton Barber (ankle) not practicing, Ronald Jones "got the majority of everything today."

Fantasy Impact: 

We don't yet know Barber's Week 8 status, but he didn't practice Wednesday. If Jones gets the gig to himself this week, he would be a volume-based RB2 against the Bengals 31st ranked rush defense (in aFPA). More importantly, if Jones were to play well, he'd ensure himself of more work going forward.
