Scouting report

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 13, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 13 vs Indianapolis
Ryan Fitzpatrick actually showed glimpses of the 2015 Ryan Fitzpatrick last week, throwing for 269 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was a good sign for the Jets, who are trying to get some stability back at the position. But can he pull it off two straight weeks?

The Jets face the Colts, who are 30th in aFPA to quarterbacks, so the short answer to that question should be yes. He has a great matchup and just needs to continue to be efficient and avoid mistakes.

Even with the matchup against Indy, Fitz still only ranks a low-end QB2, so keep Fitzpatrick on the bench for Week 13.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 12, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 12 vs New England
Ryan Fitzpatrick's fantasy value remains very low and he is not even an option in Week 12. At this point, he shouldn't even be on your roster.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 10, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs Los Angeles
Ryan Fitzpatrick continues to struggle and had not throw multiple touchdowns in a game since Week 1. It's hard to believe he is going to turn it around. He just isn't the same quarterback from 2015. Eight touchdown passes compared to 13 interceptions tells the story.

Fitzpatrick will face the Rams in Week 10 who are 11th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Even with a decent matchup, the Jets offense continues to be anemic. Not only should you keep Fitzpatrick on the bench, he is one of the worst fantasy quarterback plays this weekend.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Miami
In his first start since being benched, Ryan Fitzpatrick did not impress in throwing for 228 yards and one touchdown against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. He completed less than 50 percent of his passes, but the good news is he didn't throw any interceptions.

Fitzpatrick was pretty good against Miami last season. He threw five touchdowns with only one pick in the two meetings. The Dolphins are 15th in aFPA to quarterbacks this season. Those two facts might lead you to think Fitzpatrick is a good play this week, but the eye test says otherwise. Fitzpatrick's struggles continue, and until we see some sustained improvement, keep him on the bench.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 8, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 at Cleveland
Ryan Fitzpatrick's benching didn't last very long. With his replacement Geno Smith suffering a knee injury and now out for the season, Fitzpatrick is back as the starter for the Jets. In relief last week, he did complete 75% of his passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. We are still not sure how much is going to change from what Fitzpatrick has done this season which has been mostly negative.

He does have a great matchup against the Browns who are 31st in aFPA to quarterbacks. But even going against the Browns defense, we are not sure which Ryan Fitzpatrick we will see - 2015 or 2016 version.

Sit Fitzpatrick for Week 8. We want evidence that he is back to his old self before we gamble on putting him back in the lineup.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 6, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Arizona
Ryan Fitzpatrick has been bad for most of the season, but he was at least better against the Steelers last week. He did not throw a pick, after throwing nine in his previous two games. However, his numbers still weren't great. He did throw a touchdown pass and added 255 yards, but the Jets passing game still didn't resemble last season's.

The Jets face the Cardinals this week, who are 13th in aFPA to quarterbacks. But Fitzpatrick still has to prove he can get back to where he was in 2015. It doesn't look that way now, so keep Fitzpatrick on the bench.

NYJ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 at Pittsburgh
Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a mess the last two weeks, totaling one touchdown and nine interceptions. There is panic in New York because the Jets have seem to lost faith in the veteran QB, but are not willing to make any kind of move at the position. So Fitzpatrick will get a chance to work out of his slump.

The Jets travel to Pittsburgh, where the Steelers defense is ranked 19th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Fitzpatrick should put up yardage numbers against Pittsburgh, but the Steelers have been bend not break.

Keep Fitzpatrick on the bench for Week 5. He has been so bad that it's not worth even risking him in your lineup. The interception problem alone keeps him out of lineups.
