Fantasy Upside
Bleacher Reports notes that Ryan Griffin could be interpreted as the preferred receiving option with nine targets over rookie C.J. Fiedorowicz's five through the first three preseason games this summer. In addition, his proven production when he replaced Garrett Graham over the final four games of 2013 is another factor in Griffin’s favor. Another factor working in Griffin's favor is his 6-6 height and his reliability in the red zone.
Fantasy Downside
The presence of Graham, Fiedorowicz and some high-end talent on the outside (Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins) combine with a questionable quarterback situation.
Bottom Line
From a fantasy perspective, Griffin's relevance is tied to Graham's health. While Griffin might contribute throughout the season, he would likely reprise the late-season replacement role he played effectively last season if Graham is hurt.
