Scouting report

TEN QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 10 vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Ryan Tannehill was forced to go to the air 39 times last week in Carolina, which is probably more than the Titans would like. He did post 331 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while also rushing for 22 yards, but the Titans would prefer to run the ball. That could be hard this week if they fall behind the Chiefs. Tannehill could be a sneaky start this week at home in a game in which the Titans figure to be playing from behind.

TEN QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Carolina Panthers
Ryan Tannehill threw for just 193 yards last week, but tossed three touchdown passes in a win over the Bucs. He gets a tough Panthers' pass defense on the road this week, which will be a tall task to solve. The Panthers have allowed just nine TD passes all season and will put pressure on him. Tannehill is a player who should probably be faded this week after a good matchup last week against the Bucs.

TEN QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Ryan Tannehill made his first start last week in place of Marcus Mariota and made the most of it, throwing for 312 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He also scrambled for seven yards, though he did fumble twice. Tannehill played as if he had nothing to lose, which is what you want. With some QBs banged up and others on the bye, you could do worse than using Tannehill this week in a juicy matchup against the Bucs, who are 30th in fantasy defense against quarterbacks.

TEN QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Ryan Tannehill relieved a struggling Marcus Mariota last week and completed 13 of 16 for 144 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. Tannehill looked better in the preseason than Mariota, but does he have a rapport with his receivers? The Chargers' secondary will test him. So will their pass rush. He's worth playing this week in two QB leagues, but probably not otherwise.

MIA QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Buffalo Bills

Miami goes to cold Buffalo with nothing to play for in Week 17 (except maybe its head coach). The Dolphins have a miserable implied team total of just 17.5 points as 4.5-point underdogs. With Ryan Tannehill posting fewer than 15 combined fantasy points over the past two weeks, no player involved in this passing game is worthy of starting consideration in Week 17 against a tough Bills secondary. Despite that, even the Dolphins run game is risky due to Adam Gase's RBBC. This appears to be a run funnel offense, with Buffalo ranked 29th in aFPA to RBs. All of this renders Tannehill worthless to end the season.

MIA QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Dolphins host the Jaguars in a game with a brutally low over/under of just 38 points, second-lowest on the Week 16 slate. Despite being 3.5-point favorites, Miami still only has an implied team total of 20.75 points. The Jaguars rank 17th in aFPA to QBs, but Tannehill has reached QB1 numbers in just one week since returning from injury. In 1QB leagues, find a better streaming option for Week 16.

MIA QB Ryan Tannehill - Week 15 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 15 at Minnesota Vikings

Miami may have pulled off a miracle last week, but heading on the road to Minnesota this week may require the second coming. The Dolphins have an implied team total of just 18.5 points and are touchdown underdogs. The Vikings also rank second in aFPA to QBs. Take away the last-second score against New England and Tannehill would have put up another high-QB2 performance for the third straight week. In 1QB leagues, he's not a good option.
